Gauging Interest for a groupbuy on Cusco strut bars

Hi guys,

A handful of guys PM'd and emailed me regarding interest in a Cusco Front upper strut bar groupbuy. Here are the specifics. Pricing will be $165 shipped for the bar but there is a 4-6 week wait time because they are coming special order from Japan. The bars will carry a full warranty w/in North America. I would like to get at least 5 people interested to move forward w/the groupbuy. I would need to obtain a deposit of 50% to place the order though, w/the other 50% due once the strut bars are in my hands.

Here is the signup list.

1. Mr. Big
2. Anthony
3. Mark
4. Vincent
5. Allout
6. Bulldog01
7. Danny25
8. NatesCLs
9. liquidX

Nashua, I have no idea what someone paid for it. Keep in mind that this is through Greddy USA so it is fully factory backed and warranteed. I have heard of other people getting them from another vendor but it was Gray Market. I'm not selling gray market goods, only full factory authorized goods.

CLr- if you have questions about fitment, PM peiquinglong. He did the test fitment of the bar for me.

Mr. Big- don't worry I'll knock off the shipping price for locals. The price w/out shipping is $155. We are going to place all the orders all at once. I'm going to give everyone about 6 days to get in on this.

CL®, there is virtually no space between the stock bar & the cusco bar once installed.

That was before shipping costs, Nashua...

I understand you need warranty on electrical parts but why with the bar? Has there been horror stories like the bar breaking off or are we talking about rust and discoloration. Price sounds reasonable compared to over $300 for the Titanium Comptech. What about function is Cusco known for suspension parts and how will it fair compared to the Neuspeed?

Well, I would personally like some sort of warranty on any aftermarket part that I purchase. I have seen many things happen such as bent items from shipping, hairline cracking in pieces, poor fitment, poor finish etc. I always prefer the piece of mind knowing that if I receive an item that has a defect of some sort that there will be some recourse. You don't always have that option on gray market items.

BTW, cusco is one of the biggest and most highly regarded suspension tuners IMHO. I use cusco bars in all my cars that they have applications for. I have front and rear cusco carbon fiber bars in my s2k and I have front and rear strut bars and sway bars on my wrx.

As far as comparisons w/neuspeed. The only way to truly gauge that would be to have someone try both out and swap them out to gain a feel for the bars and even that would be highly subjective.

i never did a group buy before, so i was wondering how to pay you your 50%. I would rather pay you in person however. Im just not comfortable with spending over the internet. Can you please let me know what i can do or how i should go about leaving the deposit?

thx

The Cusco definitely helps. The lower arm provides additional stiffness also. These bars are badass! Arnold is definitely the person to go thru.

I've tried all stock for a bit when I took off my Neuspeed...tried the Neuspeed and then tried the Cusco lower arm with the stock bar and now the Cusco upper strut and lower arm. It's hard to be accurate because the time frame was so spread apart. But right now, with the Cusco upper and lower...the steering response is much better.

The people with Cusco lower arms are Astro, mantis, and now me.

does the cusco lower arm get in the way of the comptech headers? i've heard the neuspeed doesn't fit with comptech headers.

I guess

I am interested in both the upper and lower but there is not even 1 piece that is blue on my car.... If they come in different colors I would seal the deal..

I'm also curious about one of the questions asked above.....

- Will it fit the TL-S. I'm assuming it will since they're pretty much identicle... but just want to know 100%

I may be interested as well. A few questions -

- How much are we saving with the group buy?
- How difficult is the install for this? Does it bolt into existing holes?

last time i checked he was charging about $45 for shipping.

so, umm $45 plus $125 usually equals $170.

1. the bar will fit both the cl and the tl.
2. it only comes in one color, silver w/blue.
3. I am not currently doing a buy on the lower arm bar, just the strut bar for now.
4. Yes it uses all existing holes and is an easy install.
5. This item is not stocked here in the u.s. it is purely a special order item from Japan. That is why I'm gauging true interest.

Relax, it is Friday.... If it makes you feel better I can delete my posts.. I would NOT want to piss you off.... Or I can order one and just paint the ends silver to match my car...

You said silver/blue... Looks like Chrome/blue to me in the pic of Astroboy's ride... Please specify.
