Gauge pod? yea/no

![Question](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
So I wanted to know what everyone thinks of getting a dual gauge A-pillar for the CL-S.
Now I am not boosted I just want it cause I am putting in a transmission cooler soon and I decided that I want to do a trans temp gauge as well.
However there's nowhere to put it that looks proper. Therefore the a-pillar pod is ideal. And I want a voltmeter gauge also cause my old car had that and I loved it. Was great for a heads up on electrical problems.
anyways. so what you think, for my situation?
GAUGE POP OR NOT

RICE or not, it's for a purpose, not just so I have a stupid gauge to look at.
I think I'm gonna get it either way, since the glove box, u gotta open up to look at which is pretty stupid imho. Gauges are supposed to be there to observe all the time.
anyways... I'm ordering the pod and gauges now. hopefully i can get them for my B day but i doubt it.

I plan on doing a before, and after, analysis using my trans temp gauge on how effective the trans cooler really is.
I am going to see what's the avg temp throughout the week... noting the temps and driving conditions. and then do it all over again with the cooler installed.
So hopefully I can report some solid data back to the auto guys who dunno if it's really worth getting or not.

For what you have i wouldn't do a guage pod. If i was gonna get a guage pod i would have the guy who made civics and other ppls make mine. he attaches 2 pods to the top plastic piece behind the steering wheel. he charges 180 to make the guage pod. I believe he is on the forum.

it's bought and paid for. so I'm getting it.
And I plan on tracking the car a few times next year after suspension. So I'd like to know how the trans is doing.
I already got it rebuilt and it's mint, so I intend on ensuring it stays that way. Trans temp and volt meter I thought are 2 things the auto cl should have and does not.
every car should have a volt meter IMHO, and I wanted to monitor the transmission. so it led to this. Anyways. I'll revive this thread once I get everything in the car.

I'm interested in the temp readings with and with out the cooler .
Daily,
And lower gear gated driving.
Like ripping around in 2nd when the car should be in atleast 3rd.
If it does lower the trans temps while really working the trans then I would do the trans cooler.
As far as the gauges .
I would not do pillar mounted one's unless they were nice fiberglassed or covered nicely to look as one piece.
Not like a universal set up that just mounts to the factory pillar,
It would look cheap.
The volt gauge is a good idea but,not a gauge you want up near your face.
It constintly fluctuates and might be a distraction at night

Electrical issues are uncommon on these vehicles. It's about as worth wild as putting in a differential temp gauge on the manuals. Something COULD happen but the chances are slim to none that it's worth the money and effort for something that'll likely never happen.

lol think what you want guys. I had major voltemeter issues with my previous car so I am a lil bit paranoid now that my car is getting past the decade park. and as for the tranny, i've always been worried since i needed to replace mine.
and the a-pillar pod is all one piece, I wouldn't pay money for it otherwise.
I was thinking of fabbing one with fiberglass resin but decided not to.

i asked for all your opinions to see if you agreed with mine (is that crime). Not so you guys could make the decision for me.
like I said the title was not, "make my decision for me"
it was help me make my decision.
and no one brought up any point that made me change my mind even though most of you don't like it. But your reasoning for not liking it is cause it looks "rice".
lol so If you think that is supposed to make my mind up then your are sadly mistaken.
I merely wanted to see why most people have a stigma about the dual gauge pod. and I was right, most people do have a pre-determine notion of why you should have an a-pillar pod.
I didn't know people would take offence to me trying to figure that out.

ok I kinda screwed up.
after reading over the ebay add again it says Placement: Frontright
The picture shows the typical apillar pod on the frontleft. I didn't even know they made pillar pods for the other side (especially on a left hand drive car only)
Anyways, does anyone know if it's probably a typo or.... cause it just boggles my mind that the ONLY one i could find was apparently for the other side of the car.
if anyone knows that'd be a nice release of some anxiety... thanks
