Shawn made an excellent point here...
The reason that jimcol pumped 10 cents worth of air into his tank is definitely because the asshole that used the pump before him emptied the hose.
When you do the shit that jimcol describes, you're screwing the next guy, not the gas station.

Someone told me that if u go to the gas stations where u have to flip up the little lever handle up....well after you finish pumping, if u leave the handle up and drive off, the clerk inside still thinks your pumping gas...but then again, u could get caught with the cameras...
