gas problems...could this be why?

Ok I have noticed 2 things

-My CL-S got slow after i put my stock tires back on, from winter tires

-My gas SUCKS FUCKING SHIT, I could swear i can see it moving down if i look hard enough..IT WAS NOT AT ALL like this when i got it last summer

Noww....i realized that i am driving a CL-P cause my actuator is not opening..Could this be the reason i am getting bad MPG??

I know its why my car is slow, but is the actuator affecting my gas?

I don't think the actuator makes much difference. It doesn't open until 3800. If you care about mpg, you should rarely see that rpm anyway.

Amir,

are you saying someone in GTA Toronto sold you what you thought was a CL Type S but is really a CL Premium ?

Which dealership was this? (I live in Toronto)

The actuator opening is one of the things that gives the S more power than the P at higher rpms. So since his isn't opening, its like driving a P.

yup mdanial said it..

I bought a Type S, but the the thing that makes the Cl-S 35 HP faster than the CL-P is busted, its not trigger and opening up...

sorry, as you can tell, i am not a pro at this tech talk..

So acura is gonna order me a new actuator and replace it for free, so it will be 260hp.

on the flipside of things...

What if CL-P's swap actuators with S's?
Is that feasible? (yes, hold down the laughter, i'm mechanically challenged)

Kavextrax,

That's an interesting idea, but then you would need the Cams that the Type S has to realize the potential of the actuator...not to mention the plenum plate, as well as the compression ratio and ECU. Might as well swap the engine, or possibly just the head/cams/ECU.

I'm averaging about 290 miles on a tank now that I'm running AC all day long. Plus all I drive in is traffic.

I think that its the oxygenated gas everyone uses during the winter that is hurting your mileage.

Usually about now....they start switching over. This has something to do with the cold during winter months...this helps to reduce emissions...

You're all wrong! It's the white face guages and perforated leather that give the type S the extra 30 some odd horsepower.
