Gas mileage in the Type-S Automatics

To all you CL-SA drivers out there...What kind of gas mileage are you all getting on highway trips and city driving?

During my mostly city driving, I can't seem to get much above 21 to 22 mpg. My highway trips yield about 24 mpg. I see the CL-S6's are getting 28 or 29 on highway trips. Is there THAT much of a difference in mpg between the auto and manuals, or am I just into the pedal on the right way too much?

Give me some feedback, please?

bsprinker, I drive an automatic and for city driving i usually see between 18 and 22 mpg (my foot is sometimes very heavy). On the highway i usually get 27 or so but on my last long drive I got 30 so it is possible to get just as good mileage from the automatic.

City probably arund 18-19 (not heavy footed)
Highway upper 20's as long as i am below 80.

If you are getting low 20's one the highway at speeds under 80 something is off with your car

Per above, I get mid-twenties on the highway. So either I am into the gas pedal too much even on the highway, or something IS off on my car.

24 mpg consistantly. It's combined, mostly 2 lane highway, lots of stop lights but not much stop and go in heavy traffic. If I am first at one of my 19 lights on the way to work at 6am, I FLOOR it and get away from everyone for a while (until the next light at least).

Here we go again...

22 mpg if you drive it like your ex-wife's lawyer is after you...

26+ mpg if you drive it like your old Kia...

I drive pretty hard and have mods, but my TL-S gets 20mpg in the city dead on and I just took a 700mile trip and averaged 27.9 on the first tank (some city driving before leaving) and 29.8 filling up this morning (after 450miles of pure highway)...

I can usually squeeze 350 miles per tank but in warmer weather I have done 400 many times. Check your tire pressure and by the way I don't drive slow

32 MPG x 15 Gals = 480 miles
32 MPG x 17 Gals = 544 miles.

It would be amazing to do over 500 miles per tank!

I don't really keep track of MPG, however when I had the 02 I drove all HW straight 1200 miles to NYC, & got about 490 miles each out of 2 tanks, at about 75MPH with no AC.

Been there;done that---she looked like she was empty but almost took 1 gallon when I filled her-all interstate averaging 80mph. Felt like Kramer on Steinfeld when he was test driving that Saab.My wife said I would run out; but I was goin to do it or go dry trying.Got 31 mpg. Amazing IMHO

i got 460 miles to the tank once with 91 octane, then filled up 15.6 gallons at the station. Do the math, comes out to about 30 miles per gallon. Thats the best though, I did constant 80mph on the 5south from San Fran to San Diego. Anyone who's been on this road tho knows that its mostly flat the whole way.
