The problem you all have with understanding my continuous tankful after tankful of ~30 mpg (and often plus) is that this car is a highway driver. 67 miles each way to/from work, all Interstate (until I pull off into the parking lot). No traffic at 4am going to work, little traffic at 2pm coming home. Cruise set at 67.5 mph, tach sitting on 2250rpm ... day after day after day. Figure in the 1.3 to 1.9 miles to/from the gas station every 3rd day (depending on which one I go to), and 3.5 miles to/fm the store once/twice a week, my "in town" mileage doesn't impact my highway mileage. The only way you are going to prove that you can do this (if you would even want to) is resisting your need to plant your foot through the firewall each/every time you take off from the light. In response to an earlier post, yes ... ICEBOX with no headers/exhaust. 235/40/18 T1-S's on Servos (3 season) and Dunlop Winter Sport M3's on stock rims (winter) ... and mileage per tankful not impacted by either setup.
