G35
One of my best friends bought the new Infiniti G35 4door about a month ago and it hit 1400 miles this week (safely beyond break in period). We've been talking smack left and right about who would spank whom- you know, because it's fun.
First run was from a rolling 15mph start. My nose of the car started from his gas tank. A few seconds later, he's about one car length behind me.
Second run was from a complete stand still. We both hit it. It seemed every time I hit VTEC range, I would pull on him. By 90, I had eased off and he was about a car and half behind me.
Both of these runs, we had VSA on and left it in auto mode (no SS). Also, we're both bone stock.
From the stats all these mags give this car, I'd figure we'd be dead even, if not marginally slower than the G35. It could be that his car hasn't 'fully' broken in yet or something, but seeing how we always hang out and what not, we'll undoubtedly have a few more tangos in the future.
BTW, this was done in an empty part of the suburbs on a wide ass street w/o any residents nearby
Cheers...

Yea, we were both bone stock. If anything was different, it's just my Mobil 1 synthetic oil.

Strangely, the VQ motors don't make full steam until they reach 8-10K miles. Their motors take a long ass time to break in.
Did you see the Odo reading of the G35 picture in C and D

What was it? Something high?
If that's the case, do all manufacturers give higher mileage cars to mags for performance tests?

I just say that because I test drove the G35 before I bought my CL-S, and I felt that the G35(automatic even) was about as quick as the 6-speed type S that I ended up with. The main reason I went with the Acura was because they didn't offer the G35 with a stick, and I got a family discount deal with the Acura. I'm happy with the typeS though, Im just new to the CL and I need to find out about the aftermarket for this car.

Often, Manufacturers never give out higher mileage (like 40,XXX+ miles) cars because the cars overall solidness and integrity will almost never feel the same as a newer one.

Update
Here's another run:
Tonight:
Light turns green, I badly spin out my tires. He has a good 1/4" car length lead and maintains that up to about 85 where we both back off. I couldn't catch up, but he didn't gain any. Fun time, especially since it was so much closer than last time.
