Full Sized Spare?

Yes I did try the search, but it didn't come up with the answer I was looking for.

2002 CL-S. Question... Will a 16" Rim fit in the spare tire well without making the carpet bulge up?

I know the 17" wont fit properly, but I've heard that a 16" will? Can anyone confirm this?

My donut caught a nail and so I need to get a new spare. Would prefer to get a full sized spare if I can.

Thanks in advance!

It might. I doubt it though. You wouldn't have a full size spare anyway since the rim is 16" not 17" .

No. I tried a 17 inch wheel and it no where close. No chance either will fit.

Ok... not a true full sized spare but at least better than the donut. Something I could run faster and longer. Like if i were to drive from San Diego to San Fran, I wouldnt be worried about being stuck somewhere in between.

So not even a stock 16" rim would fit properly in the spare wheel well?

its not that its larger in diameter, the wheel width too big for the carpet to lay down flat.

That's what I was afraid of. Looks like I'll be hitting up some parts stores here in San Diego for a new donut then. Thanks!

You could get a full size & just stick it in the trunk when you know your going on a long trip. I actually have a spare rim & a toyo tire unmounted(directional so when I need it I can mount it for whatever side I need) in my grandmas garage.

Yeah, that one way to do it, but pulling out all the luggage to get to the spare is still a pain in the ass... btdt...
