Fuel Injection Cleaner

Okay so I stopped by Giant to grab some dawn to do the dishes tonight and put some STP Fuel Injection cleaner.

I don't know if its just me but I swear my acceleration was a little better tonight.

btw I have almost 27k miles and its my first time using this on the CL.

I use Chevron's Techron (since I get 99% of my gas at Shell) and I add a bottle about twice a year.

It sure doesn't seem to hurt...

fuel injection cleaner

is like insurance at car rental and insurance at blackjack. you should never get it unless you're mathematically sure that you need it. meaning, you better believe you've got some dirty injectors for some reason since today's gasoline is pretty much self cleaning.

Fule injector cleaners.

I have been using Chevron's Techron for years in my fuel injected cars and never had fuel injector problems. I usually put in the fuel tank before a long trip.

I use the Chevron Techron. I usually put in a bottle everytime I get an oil change, just to be on the safe side. Like I say, better safe than sorry.

Ditto on the Techron.... It worked wonders on my GF's old Toyota Camry 2.5L V6. Granted, it wasn't very well maintained before I met her; but a bottle once or twice a year made a noticeable difference in drivability.

I'm not sure I'd use it on a new car, tho. YMMV.

I have used the BG products fuel treatment in my TL www.bgprod.com I use the Supercharger2 Fuel treatment it cost about $10 a bottle. The ACURA Dealership that I go to also use the BG products like the MOA oil treatment & Fuel treatment. I get a bottle or 2 when I am there for service. I put a bottle in back in November. The ACURA Dealership will add it at service intervals like 15,000 miles along with the oil treatment. I also watch the Motor Week TV show & PAT Goss uses BG products. Pat said he was skeptical about some products but when they did test in his shop found that somethings really work. I try to catch the Motor Week show but I miss it sometimes. Since its brodcast from this area he does a local 30 min call in show on Sat. He had the guy on the show from BG products one morning. I figure If the ACURA dealership uses it & the combination BENZ/DODGE/NISSAN/OLDS dealerships were my sister got her van from use it the stuff can't be bad for the car.

Definitely, every four to six months a bottle of Techron has gone in every car I have owned for ten years. The benefits probably can't be measured completely but a little peace of mind helps.

Techron is good, Toyota EFI Cleaner is better. It comes in a STEEL can and it advises not to leave in tanke for more than 5 days after adding to 1/2 tank of fuel. I used to have a long neck plastic bottle to add fuel additives and the first time I tried Toyota EFI Cleaner as I pored it in the top it ate through the bottle and came out the bottom!
