Front wheel bearing question
Hi guys, last year my front left wheel went into a big pothole and caused a flat tire.. since then, my wheel bearing is making some noise and its time to change it.
My question is, do i need any special tools to make the job? It is a easy DIY?
Thanks!

Anthracitecl, that is a lot of extra work to replace the wheel bearing, perhaps you are thinking of the lower ball joint?
For the wheel bearing, its the entire hub assembly that needs to come off and the knuckle does not need to be removed to do this. The easiest thing to do is to not just buy the wheel bearing, buy the entire hub assembly. Here are the steps.
1.) With car on ground, remove the center cap on the wheel.
2.) Get a long breaker bar with a pipe on the end and a large socket to fit over the axle nut. (Can't remember the size but its in the high 25-30mm size I'm guessing)
3.) Just break the axle nut loose ever so lightly.
4.) Jack up the car, remove the tire.
5.) Remove caliper housing using the two 19mm bolts(I think thats the size)
6.) Pull off the rotor
7.) Remove the axle nut the rest of the way.
8.) Work off hub assembly from the axle.
9.) Replace with new hub assembly and put back together.
I may be missing something, its been awhile since Ive done this job.
Its fairly simple and straightforward. Good luck

pits200- I got a question. how did you replace hub bearing assembly w/o removing knuckle? I've never done this car. but i did few hondas. I needed press machine. That's why i said that. like GM cars, you don't have to remove knuckles. they are hub bearing assembly. you just loose 3 bolts and it just come out.

I started a thread when i removed the knuckle to take it into a shop to change the lower ball joints. Now let me find it.

Hmmm, now you have me thinking, lol.. I was thinking of replacing the rear assembly and not the front??? I think you're right Anthracite about it needing to be pressed in. Damn it!! My apologies.

Its usually a whiring, or a grinding sound, maybe rubbing? It should get worse when you put load on it (turning). Which ever way you turn and it gets louder the bad bearing is on the opposite side.
Left Turn gets louder = right bearing bad
Right Turn gets louder = left bearing bad

TL wheel besting and HUB
2009+ Acura TL’s only have Bearing Hub Assembly on the rear wheels for the FWD models. The front bearings and HUBs are sold separately and the bearing must be pressed in and then the HUB pressed in. Attempting to do this without removing the knuckle can damage the bearing and you will end up right back where you started. I just replaced mine today and the Hubs were only $89/ea andbthe bearing set L/R was $79. I recommend taking the knuckles off and paying a local shop about $35 per side to press them out to prevent knuckle damage and the shop will press the bearing and then the hub back into the knuckle. It took about 45 min to an hour to remove both knuckles and an hour to/from the shop and another hour to get it back together. You will spend less than $400 on a job that mstvshops will charge $1200-$1600 to complete.
