Front & Rear BBK / Ksport vs Rotora

So I've been doing some research on pricing and other crap. Basically I've come to pricing a complete BBK setup all around and looks like I can price an

8 piston front 6 piston rear 2 piece rotor 13" K-Sport setup under 3k.

A 2 piece rotor 13" Rotora setup with 4 pistons all around will run me well over 3k.

I'd assume the pistons in the K-Sport are smaller, but still, its considerably cheaper and may stop just as well if not better then the Rotora setup. Plus everyone is running Rotora's and their is a uniqueness to the orange calipers.

Anyone have any experience? I'd prefer hearing from vendors or those with a K-Sport BBK setup. If their coilovers are built as well as the brakes I will probably pull the trigger on them.

I've heard good reviews about the K-Sport BBK. You would have to buy the accord one right? 98-02?

I don't know what kind of wheel clearance you would need either...

I've had a Rotora BBK in the past as well Rejekt with my SCer. I just wanna try a different route... unless the Ksport is inferior.

Yes the 98-02 Accord ones are the ones I'm looking at.

Rotora is good but not the best, I've never seen the K-Sport ones, post a pic.

BTW, OT, do you still have that wideband 02 sensor for sale or the 3 pod gauge pillar?

HOLY HELL i didnt know those ksports existed!
is the rotor coverage more than the rotora though?? 8 pistons could be garbage if it doesnt cover that much..
i beat the absolute hell out of my rotoras. they are fantastic once warmed up but, something a little bigger i would love. i do however still have stock suspension which creates massive nose dive, thus reducing my braking power

It would be nice to have both front and rear BBK instead of the typical painted rear OEM calipers to match the fronts. I say go for it, just watch the clearance needed for the K-sports, running a spacer will most likely make you rub and/or lose the hubcentric feature of the wheels resulting in an annoying vibration at 60mph+.

I believe you can choose the 13in rotor.

The ksports look nice, but I havn't seen them pop up in this forum yet.

K sport brakes have been around for a while. but no one knows about them.

As for the coverage of the pistons on the pad... look at the caliper in the picture....u can see the 4 overlapping circular outlines on the face of the caliper. That's the "coverage"

lol nope, this isnt a noob question, and i dont think you even understand my point in asking..

coverage is how much piston surface area is evenly pressed on to pad then to the rotor

i WISH we had aftermarket calipers with this much coverage. thats like 1/5 of the rotor

Damn over 3k for front + back. Definately sexy tho. Does the rotora rear retain the handbrake cause i would definately need handbrake.

k-sports are incredible, I've driven a 350Z with f+r's. Only thing tho, the k-sport rears don't have an e-brake.

EDIT: what he said vvv

I sell K Sport coilovers and they are a good bang for the buck: firm, track-inspired, damping adjustment, ride-height adjustment, etc. They are not on par with TEIN's quality but they work.

Personally, I wouldn't install a K Sport BBK on my vehicle. Bigger isn't always better and more pistons isn't either. This kit focuses on the bling and I'm fairly sure that if you tested it the brakes would lock up prematurely due to incorrect piston size and you would have longer braking distances.

The ROTORA BBKs' are more expensive but they do are a better design. Personally and professionally I think the STOPTECH BBK's are the best-engineered but you'd have to use a 3rd gen TL kit to fit on the 2nd gen. The brake lines are slightly different but everything else will fit; even the brake lines will fit but the fitting internal nipple is slightly different.

If you are going to get a rear BBK it will likely be a 2 pc disc so you will definitely want a 2 pc front disc BBK.

You can retain an e-brake, you just need to upgrade from the cable actuated handbrake to a hydraulic handbrake. It sends fluid into the rear brake calipers to lock them in place.

By that logic you can make a CL rwd, you just have to do a boatload of work.

there are a lot of forums that have the same views as you do... I agree that Stoptech BBK's are the best engineered. But, KSPORT locking up do to premature? not really. I had a Maxima prior to this with many people running them. They are lighter than our cars at 3120lbs. Still never locked up. Never had an issue.

If anything get a 6piston then...

Absolutely nothing.... maybe referencing the rwd conversion, then again 2500 posts in less then a years time probably consists off little relative input... there are worse offenders though.

civic, you think that cable will perform the same functionality as our existing parking brake? I always put the car in neutral and pull the E-brake when parking and just want to retain the ability to remote start the car without worries.
