Friend died last night!

Umm yeah my close friend died last night at Sutter Hospital at approximately 9:45p.m. He was in a very horrifying crash on Thursday night.

The story is he was on a river side road just cruising at 65 in his slammed E55 and a drunk driver in a Ford pickup smashed into the rear of the car and the Benz skidded sideways off the road. Well the car landed upside down and my friend tryed to escape but he was badley injured (broken neck, fractured cheek, broken arm, and leg). So obviosly he was too weak to get out. But some very huge hearted person pulled over and cut the door out with a hatchet and pulled my friend to safety before calling 911. The person quickly took my friend to the hospital, however after he contacted my friends parents he left and nobody knows who he is. But wherever he is god bless his soul.

Well this afternoon I got an urgent call from his mother that he had passed away. So I of course went to the store and bought some candy for his mother and i went out and bought her some pizza so we could eat dinner and talk over her son together. So I might be adsent tomorrow and she wants to give me her sons supercharged 400 horsepower 97 Camaro (LS1). But I told her to keep it to remember her son Johnny but she insists on me having it. Anyways rest in peace Johnny.

Sorry to hear that.

Maybe this thread could be moved to car talks...

i think that would be appropriate, since its New Years..lots of people are going to be drinking tonight. People should know that Drinking+driving can affect us all negatively.

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss! :'(

It's good to hear that you are willing to help comfort your friend's mom!

Find someone that can be there for you!

I treat alcoholics and hear this type of story all too often.

Just think of how many people will be hurt and killed tonight. It really sucks!

Stay strong, and if you pray, pray that the drunk driver will be caught so he/she doesn't do this again.

Hey I agree, people who drink and drive should die!!! Especially if innocent people are hurt or injured. I am with the person who said that there isnt an excuse for it! Driving is a privilege, not a right, and people should not take advantage of it. Be safe this New Years everyone!

A cab company in Hartford, CT is offering free rides home until 6am for people that are too drunk to drive. I think more cities should sponsor such programs on heavy DUI nights like new years eve.

Hey man, I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. How old was he?

It's never easy to handle the loss of a close friend or a loved one. Try to keep your head up & be strong. I'm sure he's in a better place now.

To everyone on this forum: Please have a safe & happy New Years----If you must drink, please don't drive.

Be a Man, if you can't drive then hand over the keys to someone you trust. Sometimes it doesn't work out perfectly, i've driven after going drinking but only after myself and my friends made sure I was good enough to control the car. Slwoing down will help mitigate your reduced reaction time and I'm always on a familiar road so that helps too.

Be Safe

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. We often just go by with our daily lives not paying too much attention to these kind of stories. But when something like this hits home, it makes us realize what is really important in the world. Not how modified our cars are, or how much money we have to spend. When it all comes down to it, nothing else matters except the fact that we should be glad we are alive.

We are all sorry for Johnny

Hey, I am truely sorry that you lost your friend to a senseless human being. He should have caught a cab, caught a ride, or slept it off, plain and simple. I am not one to chastise this person, but I hope he gets what he deserves, if not from us, from his final judgement.

Appreciate the gesture his mother is handing to you, take his vehicle and protect it. She wants you to have it for a reason.

I hope just one of us can learn from this and not do anything foolish this evening, or any other time we go out and enjoy ourselves. Lets all hand the keys over if it gets to festive.

Well I really appreciate your guy'z sympathy and prayers. I will be printing this out for Johnnys mother to read. But yeah its a terrible loss he left a beutiful wife behind luckily he had no kids. I dont even have much to say he was very intelligent (studied calculous and so on) he was very successful and had a very nice house with the best of the best emmenities.

But the good news is both the wife and mother took it very well and werent out of control. However the police did find the drunk driver he had lost control and he had ran off the freeway on ramp and died instantly on impact. So hooray to that I wish that bastard was still alive! Man if I could do anything I wanted to him I would just stab him in the hands and feet then shoot him with my 12 gauge shotgun damnit he pisses me off.

I also did drive home another car tonight as ive said its a black LS1 Camaro with many mods. Did I want the car yes but it didnt feel right to me just taking something like that but both mother and wife wanted me to have it so they tossed me the keys and its sitting in the garage. I will most certainly cherish this little sporty camaro forever. I hope non of u guys out there have to suffer the pain im feeling right now it totally sucks. I would give almost anything to have Johnny back. Anyways thank you again for your sympathy and hopefully this doesnt happen to anybody else.

Sorry to hear about your loss. But, why did the guy cut your friend from the Benz? With a hatchet none the less? Was your friend in immediate danger? If he was severly injured (broken neck, arm, and leg) this guy could have injured him more. And why did he call 911 and then transport your severly injured friend to the hospital? Only trained professionals should remove and transport accident victims. I hope everything works out with his family.

Amen to that.....

I'm apologize I wasn't on this weekend to reply earlier, but I'm truly sorry about your loss. It's never easy to lose a loved one, and it's made all the more difficult when it's a "preventable" death. God bless your friend and his family and may the drunk driver get his justice when he meets his maker.......

Well I decided to drive the Camaro today (like really driving) and that car is fast as hell. Johnny ran a 10.9 best 1/2 tank of gas. I also did use the nitrous that is really kool!! The car is way faster than any car ive driven. The car has a lab top on the passanger seat that tunes the car as I drive but I dont know how to use it. The car handles way better than any car ive driven and the 14in. brakes kick ass. Besides running in the 9's (with nitrous) it looks great hes got 20in. rear wheels (Boyd Coddington) fronts are 19in. (boyds). It makes me feel like im in the Fast and the Furious.

Now the engine its a 2001 ZO6 LS6 engine (385 horse) but he just added the performance cam and the engine is all balanced and the heads are ported and polished its bored out and hes got other small air goodies. However he has the really nice carbon fiber Lingenfilter valve covers. He said hes got 490 RWHP! Im like hell no i said yur bull shitting but he opened up the hood and started it then I was a believer. Sadly he never timed his car with the nitrous so i might head down to Sacramento raceway and run it with nitrous. Anyways thats the Camaro. Later!
