Yeah, the minute any non-liberal (conservative, libertarian, etc) says anything critical of any liberal, he's immediately branded a racist, sexist, homophobe, baby killer, etc. Its a great debate tactic. Call the opposition a bad thing so they have to spend all their time defending themselves rather than making their original point.

Sure, there are a lot of racist and sexist people, but not as many as the liberal activists want us to believe. They want us to think nothing has changed since 1950. Example... it is OK to maky a stereotypical show about organized crime (Italians) but not one about violent blacks? I'm Italian... That show pisses me off. I even told my dad not to get HBO anymore. I had people ask all through college if that was how my family acted... what part of NO don't they understand? All I watch now if Sci-fi and Foxnews.

Well no, in some ways it's just like the fifties. I've been to places since I've been here in Tulsa that refused to serve me. Now, not being a particularly passive guy, I'm usually one to speak up...but dying for a cheeseburger when it's obvious I'll have to fight my way out of the place isn't a wise choice of battlegrounds.

As far as the making stories of violent blacks...hell, if I just landed on the planet and looked at the news I'd think that black people did nothing BUT crime. I'd look at the prison population and determine that black people MUST be predisposed to doing crime as they make up 60-80% (depending on which stats you choose) of the prison population and 14% of the general pop.

Granted that's not an excuse for what you're annoyed about in regards to HBO, but as far as being labeled violent, I'd have to say that at the very least, the Soprano's are given intellegence...not likened unto animals...OZ, COPS...etc.

true, true. i hate that. im not racist. i dont look at skin color really. but when i think its absurd for americans to pay reparations for slavery, or affirmative action is wrong, people call me a racist. all i want is fairness. equal opportunity. its funny. all the 'civil rights' groups want us to all be one race, yet when they gain something out of it (affirmative action, etc) you know damn well they are gonna let EVERYONE know they are a minority! what hypocrites.

If I got a head start on the game of life, thru unfair treatment, intentional racism, slavery, unequal education, inequal justice, lack of voting rights, whatever, for years, and years and years and decades, and generations, well, when it is all of a sudden not the right thing to do anymore, I would want to call everything even and everybody should be created equal starting now. Go.

I think all of the racists and bigots in the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s were told specifically that their actions, while cool and great and profitable for them and theirs at the time, would adversely affect their children and grandchilden's lifemost of the 21st century and that the 70s, 80s, and 90s would be the ugly years of change. They ignored it and it is happening. Blame your father and grandfather and great grandfather for running this country the wrong way.

When you get an unfair headstart on the race, at least in this country, you even up the race by bringing those in the rear forward until the race is even again. Based on what I've seen in the past, and especially in Tulsa, Oklahoma, that [calling the race even again] won't happen in any of our lifetimes.
