FRAM filters ok?

Needed to change oil quick and didn't have time to stop by the dealership to pick up a honda oil filter like I usually do. They installed a FRAM filter with the usual 5-30 Mobil 1 synthetic.

Are those filters reliable for 6k-7k with synthetic oil?

its reliable. I've used Fram in my other older vehicles. (98 toyota corolla, 99 chevy malibu, 02 dodge ram, 04 nissan frontier.)
not sure if its the best at filtering, as there are other brands that are better but I have had NO problems at all.

IIRC OE Honda filters are made by Fram.

cheap FARM used to get bad reviews when people cut their oil filters, but if you buy more expensive FARM its better made.
Our engines are very reliable, you don't need to baby sit them like our transmissions... so regular filter and oil will work also

True.

Fram arent extremely bad filters but there are better filters you can get from the money. And with running 7k intervals, I would use a better filter. Im running 8k intervals on purolator pureone, wix, napa gold or fram extended guard.

If you decide to use cheaper filters, purolator classic or even walmart supertech filters are okay. I'd pick either of those then a fram.

For longer intervals I would use a mobile 1 filter, but I'm biased

I used a Fram in my Chevy van at last change because AutoZone had a special , which I had no problem with....although aside from OEM, I think that Hastings makes the best filter made. I drive an extra 20 miles to a parts store locally that carries them.

I didnt mention mobil 1, K&N, amsoil or royal purple cause I think these filters would be a bit overkill for his 7k intervals and it seems like OP definately doesnt want to spend nearly 10 bucks on a filter.

I always buy OEM, this time under circumstances I had to install FRAM extended guard one. just asked for opinion on reliability. read the original message.

in your case, fram will be fine. honeywell also makes the OEM filters, similar construction.

even though Acura/Honda's owner manual says you can change the filter every other oil change.
