Found a Flaw
I was looking at my car today while talking with a friend in a parking lot today and noticed that on my drivers side, the front bumper is not flush with the car. It only sticks out a small amount, and its not from an accident or even a bump in a parking lot. It looks as if it might be a manufacturing flaw. I tried messing with it a little, and it wouldn't push in at all. Has anybody experienced this or have any idea how it could happen if it weren't a manufacturing flaw or from a bump? Also, would it be covered under warranty?

it's just a plastic bumper held on by plastic clips...
it's impossible for it to be perfect. especially considering urethane shrinks/expands/contorts with temperature

its too dark to take a pic tonight. Its not too bad, probably half an inch or less. I bought the car almost 3 weeks ago and just noticed today so its not very noticable...unless it just happened from temperature changes like he posted above. Its not the biggest deal in the world but I'm going to see it when i look at the car now. I'll get over it soon enough i guess.

Well i guess there is no way to be positive...but its certified pre-owned, they don't take cars that have been in accidents and do the 180 point check or something like that. I assume if there were any evidence of an accident they would pick it up. Also, by looking at the trouble spot, I can see that the adhesive or whatever it is between the two pieces looks in tact. My buddy agreed it looked like it could be a maufacturing flaw because of the way the glue looked and nothing looks dented either.

I think Certified preowned thing is bullshit - just another rip-off. when I was shopping for CL I went to one Acura dealership in VA and they offered cert. gold CLS 01 with like 25k miles on it for $16k while next to it cert. silver CLS 01 with 45k miles was $18,9k, so I thought wtf and checked the hood on gold one and guess what - that shit was painted, u know if u touch hood edge u can easily tell if it was repainted or not.
So be carefull.

and btw when I said about it to sales-person he didn't reject that it was repainted just offered 15,5k for it, and said it might be repainted because of scratches - try to proof that shit when u gonna trade it in later.

My front bumper is the same way. One side is flush, can't remember which side, and the other side is about 5mm out from the quarter panel. It's area where the quarter panel kind of curves in slightly, the bumper is kind of straight there. Barely noticeable.
