Fontana Raceway - May 14th

This is probably not the best thread, but please let it hang around for a day or so:

Anybody wants to go to Fontana Raceway on May 14th... racing from 4pm to 11pm. I want to try to get some times (albeit on street tires) - at least get some mph #'s.

ive been wanting to go to the track for some time now. finally a track without elevation!
if you want, you could swap wheels with me. though im on street tires as well, the ps2 has a softer sidewall and more grip than your es100's!

yo I definitely wanna come

I haven't been to the track before, so this would be perfect to go with some people who have been and can show me what the hell to do. Plus it would be awesome to roll w/ a bunch of you guys, in addition, seeing Ram's car goin' at it!

BTW, is it $20 all day or what? Sorry, I'm a track noob.

well just about anything beats Denver, Colorado, the "Mile High" city (that's 5280 ft. for those that didn't pay attention in math or science.)oh well, looks like I'll just have to deal and see how I track this summer. Probably gonna have to go FI at this altitude... or just start spraying.

That's a bummer... thought it was closer to sea-level.

I don't know what I'll run... maybe like shit - you never know! I'll be going home with the tail between the legs if it doesn't hit > 110mph for some reason. The thing is that if I spin a lot... it will never hook-up enough to get that kind of mph. It would be funny to run a 14.0

California Speedway
9300 Cherry Avenue
Fontana, CA 92335

From San Diego, take I-15 North to I-10 East. Exit at Cherry. Go north on Cherry for a couple of blocks. You are there.

why do you say that ram? too little traction? not to mention you don't wanna launch it right and tear up the clutch. I guarontee somene will let you use their rims/tires for a run or two. But no slicks or DR's for you or bye bye axle.

Come on Ram take one for the team!

3dfx, I have a helmet you can borrow and I also have a new(with tags) open face snell certified helmet in the garage. $20 and it's yours. I'm in San Diego too. PM me if you're interested in either.

Haha... the last time I did this I busted a clutch and had to tow the car from Carlsbad to Woodland Hills!!!!!!

I'll probably go and I'll bring the helmet.

hmm... well I kinda understand that, but what I don't understand is why you havne't upgraded the clutch at all. I know you want to keep driveablility, but aren't you willing to trade off a little drivablility for reliablily? Isn't there a medium?

good luck btw

ahhh california speedway.....

i dontknow if any of you have ever been to cali speedway, but let me give you some advice...

if you want to run... be there at 8 AM. YES 8AM!!! so many people go out there to run, and they put a cap on how many cars they let race. i believe its 500 cars.

$20 is for the whole day of racing but you will only get in 3 runs if your lucky.

its a saturday, right? ill be at work, but i wish you all the best of luck. BTW allmotor, i wanna see your car in person.

Ok... Sat racing is from 4-11pm and gates open at 12pm. I asked a few other friends and it appears you have to be there at 12pm to ensure a few passes.

Everything said about the speedway is Correct. I live less than a mile away, I can actually see the speedway if i stand on top of my house. That place can get really full. Is there going to be a CL meet?
