Flashing Maint Req Light

I have only 6800 miles on my CL-S and the "Maint Req" light is now flashing for about 10 sec after startup (it goes out after the 10 sec). Is this warning me that I am getting close to 7500 miles? Or, should it not be doing that at all?

Thanks

That is completely normal.

It will flash like that until 7500 while at which point it will go solid.

The dealer will reset it when you bring er in for maintenence.

Hey mikeN, it just started doing the same for me at that exact mileage on my car... well i read in the previous posts that to get rid of the flashing maintenace light do this: before starting the car hold down the select and reset button at the same time for 10 sec. while held down turn the ignition key to start the car, holding the buttons down for another 10 sec... that should do it

oh by the way, where u at the boston market parking lot off of mcarthur? it had goodson plates so i wasn't sure if it was u. it had tint and a spoiler

Thanks for the info. BTW, it wasn't me. I don't have the spoiler (yet) and bought my car at Vandergriff. I saw a silver type-s Tuesday on 183W with Goodson dealer tags on it and no spoiler.

Do you have any mods yet?

i don't think i'll be getting any mods until i get my yearly income tax check from the government. the headers look like the first puchase i'll make if i find a reasonable installer. i've been also looking at some C5's for new wheels, man those look sweet

I don't think I'm going to mess with the engine at all. I will likely get springs, shocks, and sways in April. This car has enough power for me but needs to handle a bit better. If I do any other mods they will probably be "brake" oriented.

This little tip worked great! No more blinking light.

Thanks!
