First Zaino application

It took me from 1pm to 7pm......freaking claybar took forever!!!! I assume it's because it was my first time detailing the car. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but man, it looks better than when I picked up the car from the dealership! I went to fill the gas up this morning and some guy came up to me and was like NICE CAR! Hopefully it won't take as long next time. The product is worth the money and time....it looks like a bitchin car with the tires and rims fresh and clean....can't wait for the window tint! The car turns heads YEAH!!!!

Yeah, 6 hours and then it rains the next day and you'll get the grime from the roads all over the car -- I'd love to put in that time (and trust me, I have before).. but in the midwest, we just don't have enough days to enjoy the shine thoroughly.

The first day I used Zaino (about a month ago) I spent a total of 6 hours as well. I've now spent a total of 14 hours over the last month (including the original 6 hours). I'm not only a freak for spending that much time on my car, but I've kept track of the time as well.

The first time around using Zaino takes the longest. After cleaning the car and using the clay bar then a coat of Z1 & Z2 and then all the other misc. details it's easy to go 6 hours. I haven't spent more than 4 hours at a time since then. The last two weekends I've only spent 2 hours each.

First time -- what a bitch (I spend more than 6 hours!)

2..10th times...

Only takes 1-2 hours (quick drying when hot out). You can apply when hot. If the car is only a little dirty, a Z6-Z2 will work.

When your on the road and return with bugs, tar, and all kind of goo stuck over the car, it is nice to be able to tamp with a wet towel, then Z6 to restore the car to brand new condition.

I wasn't ambitious enough for the clay bar. Since I have silver, didn't need z5. My first treatment was z1,z2,z6,z2,z6. I always like to get at least 2 coats in the first set, just to make sure no spots were missed.

After that, under an hour to wash,z6,z2.

yeah, it did take along time. I just blasted some tunes. Went through 2 Tupac cd's, Metallica and Kittie. No beers.....cause i would've lost motivation to continue with the wash.
It does suck to go on the road the next day and have all the work covered with shit but I feel the more I take car of the car now the better it will look a couple of years down the road. Plus, it's great because it forces me to stay outside and get some sun and fresh air Most of us computer geek type ppl have been doomed to working in doors and consequently are scared to go outside.....vampire type thing I guess hehe. I don't think the wash and wax will take as long next time because this time it's just wash/dry/wax.

DON'T let the dealer TOUCH it! No wash/no wax!! That's how all the original scratches/swirls get on the car in the first place!

Your so right man, the only reason why I washed and waxed my car for the past 2 weeks in a row is because my fooken cable modem at home went down. And I went through both the new tupac cd's too.

Hi,

I also noticed Zaino was in Howell, NJ and sent off an email asking if they had a retail shop. Got an email back from Sal Zaino and the answer was no, they only mail order but they have a distributor in Howell that he mentioned. Here is the info:

Shore Motor Sports
6770 Rt. 9 South
Howell, NJ 07731
732-364-7997

Hope this helps...I plan on stopping in there myself in the next couple of weeks.

Later,
Bob

We should see if Sal will be a sponsor at the next Acura meet. Maybe demo some products?
