First time to the dragstip !

Ok guys, so I went to the track last weekend for the first time ever and here is my best run:

0-60': 2.31 sec
1/4 mile: 14.59sec@ 96.9 MPH

Here's some data:

- Temp was about 65°F and 60% humidity
- I had my front tires at about 26 PSI, rear at 45 (235-40-18 Pzero Nero M+S on 21 lbs rims)
- No weight reduction (and I'm a 245 lbs guy)
- I was launching the car at about 1800-2000 RPM (auto CL-S)
- Removed left fog lamp (ouh, that helped a lot ! )

Performance mods are : Comptech Headers, AEM intake

Now, how can I lower my 0-60' ? Can I expect to drop to 14.4x with a crank pulley and Thermoblok spacers ? I also got a VAFC laying around waiting to be installed/tuned...maybe 14.3x Any other boltons available ? (beside exhaust)

Jesus, I am so jealous. I wish I could get a 2.3 60' but I have stock tires and the ever-so-hard-to-launch-6speed-tranny...

The only way to knock down your 60' is to practice, practice, practice... or get a set of dedicated lightweight wheels wrapped in drag radials, or slicks.

Cool

Does anybody went drag racing on 235/40-18 tires ? If so, what pressure were you at for your best times ?
Also, what RPM do you launch the car at for best results ?

my best 60' was 2.4 on stock rims, it is tricky to launch a six speed. ive only clocked my car twice this was the best

I'm only a tenth of a second off your 60', but I ran 15.6 @ 90.

I've nailed a couple low 2.3 60's with 110% stock setup, you just need to practice and remember its better to spin a little than to bog. I actually didnt really 60' too much better with dr's (mid 2.2's), but it didnt spin at all and didnt lose traction on the 1-2 shift which is why I think mine went 14.2.

I'm gonna give it another shot this weekend. I am aiming to hit the track Saturday night!
