First Mod...

I was thinking about getting a CAI from Injen for my new 2001 CLS that has 650 miles on it...I was wondering if that is ok for such a new engine and also what type of performance benefits can I expect in my 0-60 time? realistically? Also is the sound it makes when you floor it very loud or just slightly louder than normal? I do not want a super loud car...

I would say wait till the break in period is over then get the CAI, if you get the CAI now you will for sure push the car to it's limit to hear the vtec, and that's bad for freshly new engine so just wait then get it. In my opinion CAI is the best bang for a buck with great performance gains..

Best thing you can do:

Do a 600 miles brake-in for 2-3 weeks...

1) Get Comptech Sways: $300
2) Get Injen CAI: $200
3) GET the RES when it's out...

You can do the installation yourself.

Next Spring, get Summer tires with lightwaeigh 17x8 rims or If you like nice looking 18x8 rims...

You would be happy with your CLS!

I wonder if the engine sounds will change with RES! Would think with the added volume it will growl a little louder!

I'm of the opinion that it will. Increasing the intake chamber volume has got to give it a different tone. Especially with all the other goodies in place!

Dave - get either sways, or CAI (or both!) You will not be dissapointed. Just give you new baby a bit more time before the install.

The RES & MM2 are looking to be sure bets as well...... when they get here.

Get the intake, you won't be sorry. It only growls when you want it to.
