Finally rode on the CL-S...
Finally rode on the CL-S...
And I definitely got much more respect for you guys. JRockCLS drop'd by tonight, he was nice of him to take me on a ride in his CL type S. Hehe..I had to ask since I never rode in one, need to know what cars I need to watch out on the road, you know.
I kinda knew the Type S is pretty quick, and have been lurking around on the race stories...but I never had a chance to ride in one till tonight. Man, was I in for a ride or what. These cars really pull!! That was some serious arse hauling action there. With the traction control thingy off, it was screeching tires when shifted from 1st to 2nd. I just rode on a manual E36 M3 coupe last night, so I'm pretty sure my butt-o-meter is still fresh....the car sure is faster than the M3.
One of the reasons I wanted a ride in there was b/c I've been contemplating getting a coilover kit for me car. Custom or off the shelf, I need a set!!! I envy you guys...they just don't have that good of aftermarket supply for the Volvo.
Yeah...the ride was definitely much more civil than I anticipated. I've done enough on the suspension upgrades on my C70 to say the coilover he's got was well worth every single penny. So far I have Bilstein shocks, H&R springs, IPD sway bars, OMP strut tower brace..and a set of 18s riding on S03s..and I'm not even sure if my car's handling could come close to his. Hehe....took few pretty decent sharp turns in the back roads, and the car felt like it was on the rail~! And he is driving on balding stock tires!!
He had me convinced that I do need a set of coilovers on my car.
Yeah..all in all, it was some fun night. I'll remember to drop a gear or two when I pull up next to a CL-S next time when I see one on the road.

Hey thanks for the kind words, bro. I just posted a thread with some of the pics I took of your ride tonight:

Thanks for the compliments
You have a HOT car bro (just saw it in JRock's post) Aftermarket parts for volvo's must not be to easy to find. Is there a bodykit? We have some aftermarket parts available for our car but we are still missing the bodykit

Thanks Volvo dude, it's always good to get an objective opinion from another manufacturers owner. Sometimes we forget how good our cars are. That's why we bought them ! It's funny, because a guy at work always tells me after he rides with me that our car feels faster than his 99 manual M3.
