Finally got some new wheels!!!
Well, I had the new wheels on since last Friday, but new that if I posted about them without pics, I would be eaten alive.
Anyways, here are some crappy pics I just took. It has been raining here so the car is dirty-but can't do anything about it!!
so there you have it. I am by no means a photographer, so the pics really do not bring any justice to the car. But trust me, everywhere I go, I get compliments up to wazzu!!

Yes I agree, the powder coating turns out beautiful, but way too much money and the hassle of removal/shipping/reassembly.
I suggest one session of masking and spraying with official Caliper spray paint.
After that a quick touchup with a 1.99 can of Rust-oleum once a year and you’re good to go.

The costs are unbeatable... the calipers only require you hose them off.. the quality is top notch....
the removal of all 4 calipers can be done in under 1 hour.

Haven't you realized that Shawn is never wrong. He thought he was wrong once, but he was mistaken.

. Powdercoated CALIPER Services for HIRE
What smitty is saying about all you have to do is hose them off...well, he means AFTER they are powder coated. In order to prep them for powder coating, I ask you to get the organic soils off of them (grease, oil and dirt), and I will take care of the inorganic soils (corrosion products, Aluminum oxide, iron oxide) by sand blasting. Then there is a preheating process to get the trapped gasses out of the castings, followed by some fairly complicated masking that needs to be done to keep the brakes from binding. Then out gassing again at 400F for one hour, then they are painted in a heated state.
No flames for shawn here, but I for one would not like to do a yearly removal of every wheel, do the masking, etc. Our powdercoated calipers offer a lifetime guarantee, and I put an easy 15 hours of labor into every set of four that I do. If you do a search back to when I did smitty's calipers, you will see the only issues he had upon reassembly was bleeding issues. Totally non related to powder coating. Next to the paint on the space shuttle tiles, this stuff is the toughest paint on the face of the earth. Actually, although it is classified as a paint, it is actually a plastic encapsulation heat cured process.
Oh, and ALL of you out there, every one of you have powder coated wheels. Besides curb rash, which was caused by carelessness, how many people have complained about a coating failure on their wheels? None that I can recall, but I have only been here 17 months. Dunno.
And just an aside. I taught Porsche how to powder coat brake calipers. Some others, also.

Honestly, I thought it was more then 265, but still lots more then my Rust-oleum job.
And I paint them when I take off my winter rims in the spring so it’s no big deal.

I will have step by step instructions on the website on how to take your calipers apart along with what simple tools are needed.

I just think our stock calipers look ugly and it’s best to just paint them black so they fade into the shadows behind the wheel.
If I were spending that much I’d get aftermarket ones and powdercoat them if they aren’t already.
But then the cost keeps rising.
If I had a show car with some nice looking calipers that didn’t have to be driven all winter I would put more money into this area of my car.
