finally......

i finally got around to installing my injen cai after it sat in my garage for 3 months.

i swapped the metal rods from the coolant and oil vacuum to the red tubes and all that good stuff, but there is one problem

when i turn the wheel slightly (parking in my garage) the car hisses every time i tap the wheel. also, it hisses in bursts after i turn the car off, even up to a minute after!!!

all the tubes are clamped with the stock clamps, and everything is snug....what's wrong!?

first are you sure you reconnected the hoses correctly... there are 3 if I remember correctly... 1 coolant and 2 vacum hoses....

what do you mean by this:
when i turn the wheel slightly (parking in my garage) the car hisses every time i tap the wheel

I think what you are describing is normal. You will hear hissing any time you do anything to cause the engine to require more air. Even turning your steering wheel will cause a slight hiss.

it's normal for it to hiss when you turn the wheels. the power steering activating causes the rpm's to change.

not a minute after you shut it off though

Stupid question, does anybody know why the rpm's change when the steering wheel is turned? I'm assuming it has to do something with the electrical current being drawn. Maybe because the battery is getting old? It used to happen in my '96 maxima, but never in my CL-S & TL-P.
