Final Dyno with my mods. Not too happy

Same feelings as Scalbert, Temp was about 90 outside, I ran the car for a good 1/2 hour stuck in traffic getting to the shop.

Gained only 20 WHP from stock, & lost 5 Torque. Don't know why I loss Torque. Comptech claims a 14HP increase with the IceBox, So headers only gave me 6 HP? That makes no sense?
Same dyno I have all my runs on, don't think that was a problem. I was expecting alot more gains, in HP, & Torque. I don't like lossing the Torgue, that's what gets you off the line. I don't think 20 HP is worth all the $$ I dumped in the car. Maybe I have one of the slower cars built. I did find an answer as to why my air/fuel was all over the place on the last 2 set of runs I had. The pump for the gauge was dieing on the dyno, it's now fixed. Now my air/fuel is more normal, & doesn't dip below 11.

Numbers are all SAE
Stock
216 HP
200 Torque
Modded
236 HP
195 Torque

Everything over 3k rpm is 11/12:1 afr. That seams pretty rich to me for NA.

do you have the correction factor? It looks there is a bit of HP loss due timing retarded. Check the loss of power at 3800 rpms and 4800 rpms.

Correct me if I am wrong but according to what I see the SAE corrected power is lower even though you stated the temps were in the 90's??

If so something is wrong about their correction factor unless there was 0% humidity or very high barometric pressure (which even then I seriously doubt any Dyno reads within 10% of the correct humidity)

Aren't the stock HP and TQ ratings at the cracnk and not at the wheels? If that is the case, you are comparing @ wheel results to @ crank results. Shave about 10HP (I think would be close) off the stock numbers to get the HP/TQ specs @ the wheel.

Huh? Read what he said:

"Numbers are all SAE
Stock
216 HP
200 Torque
Modded
236 HP
195 Torque"

Stock #s at the crank are : 260hp/232ft/lbs.

If he's saying stock is 216hp/200ft/lbs. Then that means he's already using wheel hp.

I thought the CL-S 6spds put down somewhere closer to 220-225 stock though. Perhaps weather conditions are making your car slower overall, even stock ... Time to move to Canada

I guess it's nice to see exactly how many ponies our cars have and be able to hang the charts up for display. But what really counts is how the car drives and performs in the real world.

I modded my car with CT springs/sways/intake/headers and now it's so much quicker and handle so much better. That's what really counts.

But I am tempted like the rest of you to see what the number are too.

One thing to consider though. Chassis dynos actually put more stress on your car than driving it under the same type of loads. Some guys seem to do monthly dyno runs just to see if their black magic grounding kit or some other tweak gained them a couple more HP. I recommend doing as few as possible.

A: you have 2" piping and stock mufflers clogging up the exhaust flow.

Exhaust makes a big difference when you have an intake, header etc.

Really? Exhaust would help? I don't like any of them. Too loud for me, too expensive for what you get. South FL temp & humidity.
Car drives alot different, I feel the power increase.
Here are some other numbers from the printouts I got.
Absolute Barometric Pressure = 30.27 in.hg
Vapor Pressure = 0.47 in.hg
Intake air temp was 96-98 degrees
Correction factor says 1.00 SAE
Gear ratio is about 57 RPM/MPH
Could have there been something wrong with the dyno?

If your correction factor is 1.00 then that means there was NO correction factor at all, which means you're actually putting down those numbers in the heat ... The SAE correction factor should have been above 1.00 so your SAE corrected horsepower would have been higher.

you'd have to have a cat back exhaust to get gains like that.

Wow, that number does seem a bit low, especially for a manual... heat to see what auto's would do in the heat...

Sorry guys, but that is too much damn money for so little HP gains.
Headers $1200
Exhaust $600
Intake $250

Ok, so $2000.00 for maybe 30HP at the most. That is a horrible HP/dollar ratio. I would love to have a luxury sleeper, but damn.

Too bad you can't get the alternative headers for 400 on a 6-speed.
