Final answer on Spare Tire
Do we really, really need one? First, we can just keep a can of Fix-a-Flat in the car, second, we have Acura Roadside Assistance. I have different wheels and tires on anyway so they aren't matched to the spare...would it be beneficial to have the extra weight gone?

Fix a Flat is not likely to fix all punctures, the spare probably weighs in at a bit over 20 pounds so the removal of it does not seem worth the hassle of being stuck waiting for roadside assistence if they are having a busy day.Jens

That spare tire might just save your life. Suppose you have a flat tire in a bad neighborhood. Change your own tire and get the hell out of there in 10 minutes.
It's November in Minnesota and help is hours away during a medium snowstorm. Fix your own flat in 5 below weather instead of waiting around in your car for several hours.
If you are on your way to a job interview and you have a flat, would you rather fix your own tire using your spare or call and wait for help and miss the interview (or be late) with an excuse?

Wild hare thought...
If anyone ever puts on Brembos with their insatiable appetite for wide wheels (to fit), I wonder if the spare would work with them (Just a thought for Brembo users)

I'd be pretty certain that the spare would not work in the front. However, you really shouldn't drive great distances with the spare in the front anyway. If you wanna do it right, you swap a rear to the front and put the donut on the back. Remember Brembos are only for the front.

I defer to JROCK and the bad neighborhood thought (Hmmm... swapping front/rear/trunk -- bang-bang, your dead). Perhaps if I can afford Brembos, I can afford the full size wheel and tire (yes, I know it weighs more and there would be a hump -- I'm still considering the Brembos...)
