Ferrari's Austria Penalty!

Here' s a link to the decision by the FIA this am in Paris regarding the Austrian GP debacle. Seems the FIA was more pissed about the manner in which Schumacher and Barrichello shared the top step of the podium rather than the manner in which the race ended. I'll bet if Ferrari knew this was going to happen, they would not have let Rubens win last weekend!!

They did the only thing they really could do. There aren't any rules to prevent a team deciding what order their drivers finish the race in. There are rules on how the ceremony should be conducted, and that's all they could enforce. The general public is upset and the FIA hopes they well be appeased by this (I don't think so, I know I'm not).. YMMV

Actually, they only paid $500K for now, and yes, that is "chump change" when you have an annual operating budget of $300M+/year for the team!

I believe that number is around 500 actually.
