Ferrari 360 Modena gave me the nod!
I went home from college last night and myself and a couple of buddies went to the bar. I was in my fathers 91 500SL and my friends had their explorer. So we are on the PA Turnpike going about 90mph when I come up on the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen before, a black Ferrari 360 Modena. So I pulled up beside him, looked his car over, that took about 20seconds, the guy who was thirty something looked over and smiled at me. So what did I do, I punched it,,,,and amazingly so did he! Now I'll tell you what, the 500SL is a fast car, but I was on it hard proceeding past 120mph and that guy left me like I was standing still, what a thrill,,,, what a car!

I would say that is an honor that he even bothered with you. Something to tell the grandkids about!!! Why is it that only civic rice eaters want to race me???

I definitely can relate to this story. I was driving from S.F. on 280 to San Jose in my CL and I saw a silver car in the distance that I couldn't quite place. Closer and closer I got I saw that it was the Modena, and I was actually almost crying to see such a beautiful car, perfect silver, just cruising in the sunset. I was awestruck because it looks so incredible up close and moving vs. a still magazine picture. Needless to say, I had to give the driver (a thirty-maybe-forty something dude) a huge thumbs up. I didn't even *want* to race him even though he'd blow me away easily, I had way way too much respect for it.
On another note, back when I was reckless and had less speeding tickets, I did race a 308 on the highway with the 540, but he backed off at 120, gee I wonder why? :-)

Had some friends when I was growing up that had a ton of killer cars. Two of the many cars were Ferraris:
One was a Daytona with all of the smog stuff removed. Got a ride in that thing up Benedict Canyon, and that thing passed 10 cars like they were stopped. I could barely get my hand off the seat rest.
The other car was a 246 Dino, and this thing would go around 20 mph hairpins at 45 mph without making a peep.
So, these were older cars...
