Hello all,

I am pondering adding the following things to the FAQ:

1) List of a-cl threads containing pictures of people and/or meets
2) List of 'interesting' a-cl threads. Like the 'how to park your car' threads that get buried and (probably) never seen again
3) For modifications: Part numbers for ordering
4) 'appropriate' costs/installation costs
for various mods

What do you think of these? None/Any/All?

BTW, mods, can you get the FAQ posted somewhere on the 'new topic' or 'user registration' screen so we can cut down on unnecessary topics?

Yes your faq is a must for all newbies.

 

Make Newbies take a quiz before they can graduate to non-newbie status...!

Actually Chod, none of those new topics would interest me...maybe pics of the girls...

 

i'm a newbie (last week) and it is pretty difficult to find certain info like HOW TO's and stuff. can you guys have a section filled with different mod's/how'to's/instructions that ONLY have info for each specific mod? that would be awesome!

 

The mods section is there.
I'm not sure what you're looking for by a HOW-TO: most mods are not doable by yourself. Or let me rephrase that: Most mods are not doable by someone who would need a HOW-TO to do it!

Road lamps and CAI are exceptions.

 

just some thoughts...

i think the pictures of people and meets and stuff should be left for a more general board/forum rather than a faq.

the "interesting threads" might be a good idea, but it should be tied into the faq answers, so it would expand on the answers rather than supply the answer. if someone wanted a quick answer, he can look at the faq answer, and if he wanted to explore where the answer came from or what other suggestions were made and by who, then he can look at the thread.

for part numbers, that is a good idea. maybe in table format that could include the price and links to respective retailers.

and another suggestion may be related links, either to other acura/honda forums, news forums, retailer sites, and other general informative sites that go into more depth (ie stereo installation/general maintenance, car care, and other links that aren't specific but apply to most cars).

and links to hardcore porn sites would be nice!

 

Chod, your FAQ IS great. I think the content you mentioned in 3) and 4) would be very valuable.

 

Chod, its great that you're still working hard on FAQ's. I also think 3 & 4 would be useful. That way owners can get part #'s specific for our car and reasonable prices so they don't get raped at some shop.

 

Some FAQ sections I'd like and would have loved as a newbie would be:

1. Aftermarket wheel Q's.

2. Intakes Best/Worst/MIA Q's.

3. Aftrmarket lighting: Roadlamps, Highbeams & Fogs Q's.

4. Springs, Shocks and Sways Q's.

5. Rattles: Where do they come from - how to stop'em Q's

 

I think it's great on what you're doing. Listing the different mods, parts, and part numbers is appreciated. Such as stur bars since there isn't one made specifically for the CLS. Thanks for the help.
