factory alarm goes off with remote start

just had the new Compustar Pro alarm installed today. And later tried to remote start the car. It seems that it triggered the factory alarm and started to honk like crazy. The car started and everything but the acura alarm wasn't too happy about it I guess. I'll call the installer tomorrow but I was just curious if anyone else experienced a similar issue and what was a fix for that? Is it maybe the bypass module not hooked up properly or something else?

The factory disarm wire is not hooked up right. If that doesn't work then you need to ground out the factory alarm. The wire for this runs to the LED alarm light in the drivers door.

"Ground out" means taking that disarm wire that's going into the drivers door, cutting it & then attaching it to a ground screw. Grounding it to the frame, or other metal part.
This is what was done to my old 02CL that had a remote start.

Keep It Hooked Up

Just leave it if you can, unlock the doors to the car and then hit the remote start button. the doors will automatically lock back and secure the car. Using this you have 2 alarms on the car, the aftermarket one for shock sensor violations, and the factory horn for when someone actually open the door. Its slightly annoying to have press unlock then remote start, but the value is great if you think about it.

Why?
You have a better alarm in the aftermarket unit. There's zero reason to have to use the factory alarm. The coded key still works like it should. All the functions that you need like the siren, & light flash etc will work fine from the aftermarket system. Just like any car with an aftermarket alarm.
Also your HID's will not flash.
