f-ing edmunds...
how is it that they rip into the cl-s like crazy, but when they do a comparison test for entry luxury vehicles including a bmw 330 and is300, the tl-s comes in 1st place?

Its been discussed many times that the media just doesnt like the 2 door 3.2 variant. We may never know why...but what the hell...it might make people not want to buy and it and therefore more exclusivity.
I think mags cut more slack for sedans, which is what the Edmunds comparo is.... best sports sedans!! Be happy in the knowledge that we silently accept the award for the CL-S as well since our cars are the "twin" to the TL in almost every way. Maybe they expect different results with 2 doors??!*^)(@**

Listening to the video review and reading the article I felt like the TL-S was constantly being slammed the whole time. I was checking everything over again and again jus to make sure that in the end it really did beat the 330. It was literally being slammed the whole time
that article, like the other liz kim one, has a lot of mistakes. the first one i found was on the intro page where she states that a criteria is at least 200hp. the end of the next paragraph, she says they didn't include an A4 because a new one is going to be introduced in 2002...the most powerful a4 is only 190hp, it shouldn't even be mentioned!
this, of course, coming from a tl-s owner.
i'd like to see that from a reliable source...or was this what someone told you? 'cuz i had a friend that works for gm that told me those cars are as reliable as any toyota. he's in the industry, it must be true!

Get your CL-S into a very hard turn with the VSA off. You'll find that when you're setting the car up for the turn the rear will lift. If you apply too much throttle through the apex of the turn you'll find yourself facing the opposite direction that you intended. I have never had that experience in the TL-S.....no matter how hard I've pushed the car.
I didn't intend my statements to be taken as an anti CL-S campaign, as you've obviously taken it. I am an avid enthusiast of both models, however it's a fact that the TL-S does handle better, and it does have better balance.

Well, I am now modded and have been doing more driving with VSA off in the hills (since my crushed rock encounters -- long story).
I don't know if it is the Toyos or the sways, but I have never experience the turning behavior that you've described.. However, I didn't like the push in the car with stock tires, and the car's balance is quite different now...
