Hey Mantis,

You are not alone. 70mph on the hwy. Didn't even see the hole.

How much do they charge to repair your rim and do they also do refinishing as well?

I'm kind of glad that I bought "cheaper" 19"s. As soon as you get to HRE or Lowenhart.....or anything forged....then you have to wait it yo bend one....and they cost a left testicle!!!!

they are also a lot stronger. Lowenharts aren't that strong as they are made at the same place that makes all of dazz's wheels. But HRE's, Fiske, Kinesis, are all very strong, hence why they are used on the race track. Even if they do bend, it doesn't cost any more to fix then any other wheel

Yup, I’m reading it along with every other thread about people wrecking 19” wagon wheel Rims.
You guys sure are keeping the repair and replacement guys happy.

I know it’s only a 1” difference or 1/2” closer to the road, but it seems to make a HUGE difference when ride harshness & damage come into play.
But YES, I’ll admit they look cool.

In-between repairs that is

I agree and disagree. I got aftermarket 17's because A: I see so many stock black 01 CL S's around and wanted to change mine up a bit and B: I had brand new Yokos. It would have been a waste of money to buy new tires. Plus my wheels are lighter than the stockers.

BUT, when the Yokos go, the 18's are coming.

I could care less about the weight of the wheels, the CL-S IMO is not a race car.

Id rather look good going down the road.

To each his own though

get some of these (19x8 19lbs)
http://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/609281.phtml

or some advans, lighter than stock, look great, and shouldn't adversely affect acceleration.

I can't believe you're going to get them repaired again, you must have money to burn. I got sick of my 19s and just roll stock now. Yes, 19s look good and all (especially your ride), but they bend too damn easily. And now that I'm on my stockers I don't know how I put up with the horrible ride on the 19s for so long. I didn't notice much of difference when going from stock to the 19s, I guess I was just excited about getting them and did drive a bit slower at first, but when I went back to stock I noticed a HUGE improvement in the ride.

And as far as aftermarket wheels go for the CL, the only ones I'd probably get in under 19" are GT1s. I considered them in 18", but I'll probably have the same issues as with the 19s since the difference isn't much.

g dizzub

remember i put all this $$$ into making my car faster so y go w/ 19's, it defeates the porpose, u gotta decide in the beggining if u want show or go

but if i had a 6 speed w/ a blower i wouldnt mind 19's cause they might actually help w/ traction off the line

wtf is wrong with you nigs?

i live in Canada, with arguably, the worst roads of all of us save for NYC...I never bent my 18s, or my 19s...not once...i did wreck and break a 19, but never bent it...no matter what I hit, or how fast I hit it.

18's on a dropped cl or TL look great. 19's if you can do it without wrecking the rim. But 18's are fine. Plus stock for stock, line up 2 Cl-s' with the same wheel brand and type, one with 18's and the other with 19's. The one with 18's will run the one with 19's.
