Exterior Trim Paint

I know a few people have been looking for some "mystery tape" to put over the chrome pieces around our windows, me included. I read on some honda forum around using something called "trim paint." They sanded the pieces down with 800 grit sand paper, masked off the glass and door panels and sprayed this stuff on. Took em about 2hrs to do it all. Anyone ever done/heard of this? Here's some paint I found online. I'm thinking of trying this, any opinions?

I heard of this and thought about doin this, but i would need to come back to my parent's house for garage access to do it. The BMW guys has been doin this for a while now, but i'm not sure the steps they took. I have seen them done the paint route and the tape route (used 3M special tape).

Alright, here's the link with the use of the paint you found, also from one of the Bimmer boys, former TL owner. Scroll down for the DIY.

I'm doin this soon, just depends on the weather and whether my parents would let me stink up their garage

Yeah, I've seen that NPB on here, it looks real good. I tried putting some electrical tape around there earlier looked like crap! I'll check out those links and see what happens.

danm, that paint job looks good...kind of cautious about doing it though, I'm not sure what part numbers those trim pieces are if I F-it-all-up.

It works. It's not perfect, but it does it's job in hiding the chrome trim around the windows. I'd much rather get the trim painted myself, but don't have a garage to work in.
