Extended Warrenty

Anyone purchase an extended warrenty? Do you think one is needed?

Also does ACURA allow you to purchase the extended warrenty close to the time the factory warrenty should end?

Thanks

The search is all f*cked up, but I've posted some crap about this before. Check this.

There's some info in there somewhere.

You can purchase an extended warranty at any time. But as you get closer to the original warranty expiration, the more expensive the extended warranty gets.

I bought one for my CL, 7yr/75K miles at the purchase of my car. Got a good deal from the dealer, IMHO.

My extended warranty was for 5year/100,000 miles (since I put around 20k a year). It was a good deal, but I'm not sure about the details...it was maybe 800-1000 up front, but here's the kicker...I get a FULL refund if I never file a claim during the extended warranty period. The plus is that I also think that my co-pay is $0, unlike Honda's $50-100 co-pay with each visit.

I have no deductible or co-pay with mine. It's through Acura Care, and is 7 years, 100k. It's not a true extension of the original, because many wear items are no longer covered, but it is close.

I may cancel it and take the money and get nitrous.
