Just bought Extended warranty
Yup, just bought an extended warranty from Warrantygold.com
5 year 100k diamond plan. 1030 . whoo hoo!!!
this is 5 ADDITIONAL YEARS or until 100k on the odometer.
You ask how i got such a great deal??
well me , PhiTL who has a 2000 tl and a coworker w/ a 2000 jetta all purchased it at the same time.
me and phi both got it for 1030 , 0 deductible.
and my coworker w/ the jetta got hers for 1040.
the best part is 0 money up front when doing repairs and you can take it to any ASE cert center. and yes dealers too.
280 down for me and 80 dollas a month for the next 10 months.
I'm not sure if your going to get a deal like I did cause we purchased 3 warranty all at once.
What I would suggest is some of you confrence call them and buy it together and also give them the promo code.
For anyone who is interested in a kick ass deal call this guy
tell him your a member of acura-cl.com and Joo Kim referred you.
Heres the promotional code.
special discount code: acl613 or Joo Kim

And this is useable at Acura dealers? Like I can take the car to my dealer (Rosenthal in Gaithersburg) and they will accept it as if it was their own warranty? Will it work with ALL Acura dealers or is it selective?

Your warranty runs out, your tranny shits to bed, you take it to the dealer give them your gold warranty info. they do all the paper work, call gold warranty, gold warranty they give the dealer their corporate card and pay for it right there. You have ZERO fee to pay, just as if it was a warranty from the dealer.
for 1030 100k miles and 7 ADDITONAL YEARS that's a deal you can't beat for peace of mind.
now i can take my car to the track w/ no worries of tranny.
I would highly reccommend them. I'm also still waiting to hear back from the buiss. partner director to setup a deal w/ acura-cl.com
LIke I said earilar if you can't wait go ahead and just mention my name. make sure you call the number listed above.
60 day trial period too. if you dont' like it. simply cancel that shit.

3 questions:
1. Do they have to look at your car first?
2. Do they say no to mods and not qualify you?
3. If you're tranny takes a crap and you have mods do they cover it? Will they send someone for a tranny in other words?
Sorry 4 questions.

From what I’m reading, this is a NON-ACURA backed warranty....right ?
Unless it’s an official “Honda/Acura Care” plan, I really can’t get excited about that price.
We all know Honda isn’t going anywhere, but if this company files for Bankruptcy in a year you’re all screwed.
I’ve read of members here getting 100K Acura plans from their dealers in the 1100-1200 range.
Correct me if I’m wrong please.

I found this site a while back, probably from someone on this board:
http://hondaacurawarrantiesatspringf...ng-mi.&mo..htm
If you have less than 24,000 miles or the car is less than 2 years old, get an OFFICAL Acura warranty for $1,000 with a $50 deductible. Or add $175 for a zero deductible.
It is through Springfield Acura in New Jersey and I called and talked to a guy there a while back. It's all legit. I just never decided to make the purchase. I think I'm gonna do it soon, though. That's the best deal I could find for the real Acura extended warranty.
Edit: The phone number is 1-888-895-8200 ext. 553

I got a 7 year/100K mile warranty when I bought the car from my credit union for $748.00 ! SAME SAME SAME company Acura uses, except they wanted 1500.00, but would "give me a deal" at 1045.00 ! I don't think that's all that hot of a price ! Sorry........but for a peace of mind, it will work......

The Website looks legit and they do have lots of info & FAQ’s there, but it’s definitely NOT a Honda/Acura Care warranty.
I vote PASS.

I just checked on THAT one.
Actually I went to www.acurawarranty.com and they directed me to http://www.hondaacurawarrantiesatspr...dmotorcars.com
I know those are legit and backed by Honda/Acura because my dealer actually referred me there when I was trying to negotiate extended warranty’s on my 2001.

Just an FYI. I believe those 7year/100k extended warranties from acura/honda are not on top of your factory warranty. While the warrantygold 5yr/100k is. So in affect you are getting a 9yr/100k warranty, which is good for those that keep their milage low.

If I had a 6 speed, I would not buy a warranty. I bought a warranty as 'transmission replacement insurance.'
With a 6 speed, it would be hard to spend $700-1100 in repairs (that a warranty would cover) before 100k. I'd put the money in the bank.

K sorry I was away moving to my new condo but here the deal.
these are all they ask of you.
how many miles do u have? how many miles to you drive a year?
wats the vin? yo address and yo ccredit.
its not an acura warranty but its actually better.
if anything breaks or does not meet factory specs then you get it fixed. and they pay for it. but w/ honda if a window use to go down in like 5 seconds and after 5 years it takes 30 seconds accroding to honda/acura its not 'broken' so not covered underwarranty. but w/ warrantygold its covered.
All you do is take it to the dealer give them your warrantygold paper, then the dealer calls warranty gold then they provide the dealer w/ a credit card they can bill you bills too.
thats it.
my coworker go this plan cause before 01 VW's warrranty was only 20k miles proabbably because VW knew those POS would break early. well w/ only 25k miles her passengerside window would not roll up or down. and since its 5k out of warranty she out of luck and has to pay up. instead of paying up and waiting for something else to break again she bought the extended warranty. now all she has to do is wait 1 month for the policy to kick in, take it to the dealer then get if fixed and get it paid from warranty gold.
this is more like a it breaks they pay for it kinda deal

How long have you had it covered for? Sounds like a few days. Does this mean that you are not going to have your car looked at and rejected with mods. I guess you told them the car was stock if they asked? Did they ask? I'm thinking about doing this since trannies are not cheap. Its gonna be pricey for me since I'm 2000.

The "Only" warranty that is good at any acura dealer is the acura warranty, some dealers may choose to accept payment via credit card from warranty gold, or they may choose not to, the thing is alot of these warranty companies try to "dictate" there rules onto dealerships that are working "your" car, now being an acura dealer you have to abide by the policies and procedures from acura and accept there warrantys extended or factory, but i can tell you i have delt with alot of aftermarket warranty companies, our current labor rate is $75.00 per hour, some of these other companies say they only pay up to $50.00 per hour, when i have to deal with them, - i only diagnose the problem, call them for an authorization number, tell them to send payment to the customer directly, and inform the customer of the balance that they will not cover and have the customer pay up front - now it would be much easier if the customer would not have to pay, but some of these aftermarket companies make it hard for the customer, some paint a very rosy picture up front, some have strange rental stipulations making it look like you can get a rental when the car is down for service, but that will not include overnight parts delays, weekends, or shop backlog - also most do not cover any diagnostic charges either
i have never dealt with warrnaty gold, so i don't know how they are, but hopefully you will not have any problems, the only warranty that is close to the factory warranty that came with the vehicle is the service contracts that come right from the vehicle mfg's

Do you think it is still worth having (as opposed to nothing) after the 4yr/50mile runs out?

So the only problems I see with this is...
1) If WarrantyGold will ? mods later on and possibly refuse to fix problems to to them
2) If they abide by the dealerships policies/rules/rates and don't hose you with all the small print
3) If your dealership honors this
Other than that it looks good.

Why wouldnt the dealership honor it if theyre getting paid? As long as they get the labor rate they ask why would they mind. Do they really get off from screwing people over? So then I guess to answer #3, move on to somewhere else.
That is a good question if they do cover full dealer labor no matter how ridiculous it is. If they want $75 to they pay $75?
And mods is a big concern. I have heard of reps from companies possibly visiting for a bigger repair. I dont want to scare the sheep but its not from a reliable source.
If these questions are answered the way I want to hear it then I'll call this guy first thing monday.

But that is why some dealers don't want to deal with aftermarket extended warranty companies, i for one don't have a problem with taking a credit card for payment, (it gets paid, customer or warranty company a credit card to me is a credit card)(providing they pay our labor rate and retail parts fee's) it does mean a little extra work, pre-printing out the bill faxing it out and waiting for the phone call with the credit card numbers, but if i can gain a customer out of it - a little work goes a long way plus i have to be there from 7:30-6:00 anyway so its not really a big deal
but any warranty is better than none, a major repair often pays for itself

I just checked with http://www.hondaacurawarrantiesatspr...dmotorcars.com and I went through the “Price Quote” for my car and this is what I got.
2003 isn’t in the database yet, but for a 2002 with “less then 24,000 miles” it is:
5YR / 60,000-Miles 540.00
5YR / 75,000-Miles 625.00
5YR / 100,000-Miles 800.00
6YR / 75,000-Miles 735.00
6YR / 100,000-Miles 910.00
7YR / 75,000-Miles 775.00
7YR / 100,000-Miles 1000.00
This is with a 50-dollar deductible.
For an additional 175 it is reduced to ZERO.
I will probably get a 100K plan for my car before I hit 24,000.
