2003 isn’t in the database yet, but for a 2002 with “less then 24,000 miles” it is:

5YR / 60,000-Miles 540.00
5YR / 75,000-Miles 625.00
5YR / 100,000-Miles 800.00
6YR / 75,000-Miles 735.00
6YR / 100,000-Miles 910.00
7YR / 75,000-Miles 775.00
7YR / 100,000-Miles 1000.00

This is with a 50-dollar deductible.
For an additional 175 it is reduced to ZERO.

I will probably get a 100K plan for my car before I hit 24,000.

Shawn S

so does this 7yr/100k warrenty kick in after the original 4yr warrenty expires or does it replace the original warrenty?

thanks

It does not kick in after your existing warranty runs out. It starts right up but it does take some time for it to go in to effect.

phil, I didn't delete anything, may be some other mod..

also I financed it cause it was 0% apr on it so might as well.

Also I will call warranty gold and see what they honor.

they got a 60 day trial period so I just might cancel.

This is just my 2 cents. I know I havent posted much here, but this is my experience....

I had Warranty Gold Platinum Coverage on my old Subaru SVX. They were absolutely the worst company I have ever, ever dealt with in my life. And I mean it. I was working with a helpful dealer and Warranty Gold kept trying to deny coverage even when it was clearly stated in the contact that the item was covered. Additionally, they can specify what kind of part to use (i.e., used transmission in my SVX) and ignore reimbursements for rental cars, etc. It was so maddening often times I just ate the cost of the repair. They are, without hyperbole, the worst company I have ever dealt with.

That said, I did get more repairs done that my cost at the time ($800) for the warranty, and supposedly they are using a different underwriting company now, but I would be extremely cautious. It definitely wont be a walk-in-the-park claim like a factory warranty.

Doesn't sound as good as the Acura extended warranty at this point.

That's my plan. Probably before the end of the year.
I'd be less concerned if I had a 6spd but AC & stuff can add up later if it breaks.

Unless it’s an official “Honda/Acura Care” plan, I really can’t get excited about that price.

We all know Honda isn’t going anywhere, but if this company files for Bankruptcy in a year you’re all screwed.
I’ve read of members here getting 100K Acura plans from their dealers in the 1100-1200 range.

Correct me if I’m wrong please.

Shawn S

I was quoted around $1175 for an extended 100K bumper-to-warranty when I bought the car.

I do about 20k/year. This looks like a good deal. 5YR / 100,000-Miles 800.00
Has anyone called different dealers around the country to shop for the best price?

I dunno abput around the country but those are better prices than anyone quoted me here in Houston.

I even went back & talked to my salesman & asked him if he could match the price a get a little $$. He said no, just buy it from the cheapest place I could find it. He only gets a commission if I buy it at the same time the car is purchased.

Question, What is the difference between the bumper to bumper warrantee and the powertrain warrantee....Am I safe to assume that my 100,000 mi power train warrantee covers all the major mechanical areas?

I was reading about that too. Apparently the Diamond which is more money covers more specific parts where the Platinum covers only major parts like engine and X amount of parts that they cover inside the engine. However I have to see which exactly goes because they could try to screw you if like your rod snaps and they don't cover rods. The Diamond covers some wear and tear but not pads, bulbs, and stuff that usually gets replaced.

sorry to bump up this old thread...

i'm trying to find some aftermarket warranty info and found this thread. and here's some questions i want to ask

1. this guy at springfield, NJ, does he really sell the genuine acura extended warranty?
2. if he is indeed selling them, is he allow to sell warranties to others that's not from that area and Acura will still acknowledge the warranty?
3. will he want to inspect your car 1st?

4. I'm trying to decide between warranty gold and him. those of you who has gotten them can you give me your opinions since it's been a while.

BTW, I have a 97 3.0 CL w/ 39750 miles on it

Thanks

www.warrantydirect.com is the oldest and the best aftermarket extended warranty you can get. I recommend them.

I used WarrantyByNet for my BMW. The only problem arose when BMW did the service and "forgot" to call the warranty company. So, I had to raise a stink at the dealership since the warrany co. could not cover the repair. They were pretty good but they require an 'inspector' to either take a look at or approve any work before any service. They were inexpensive too.
