expansive oil change

so to save time I went to valvoline instant oil change...first time to go there...

anyways I picked the full synthetic 5w30 oil...not knowing the price of any of the choices...the total cost was $55.29

Did I just get ripped off or is this some really good oil??

on a side note...what do you guys do with the old front and back sway bars after installing the new comptech ones?

-thanks

Thats normal, one quart of synthetics in Pep Boys costs $4.50, and you need about 5 quarts. So oil itself is around $23, plus in shops they charge more than 4.50 for synthetic oil, they probably charge few bux more per quart (5-6$). Plus labor.
If you want to save few bucks, buy your own synthetic oil in Pep boys and bring it to any place to put it for you, you might be able to reduce total cost to 40$, but I dont think you can make it any cheaper than 40$, unless you do it yourself....
btw, I suggest to use Mobile 1 5w-30, its the best....

I kept mine. In case I didn't like the ride with the comptech's I could go back to stock. (Ok so now you know I was on Prosac).

Also when its time for a new car it's always better to be as close to stock as possible, unless your selling to an enthusiast.

I don't ever remember seeing anybody selling anything stock except the rims.

Hehe. Some of you guys really need to know the difference between "expansive" and "expensive". Expansive means 'grand in scale' or 'large'. Expensive is when you get ripped off by the oil change place.
