Exhaust tips on '01 CL-S...

Ok, so...I don't want to get an exhaust for my car because quite frankly, I don't want to add noise to the damn engine. Plus, I find them a waste of money. Secondly, I don't really care for the ones that are offered for our car. On that note, I am looking into putting different exhaust tips onto my car. However, I have been struck with quite a dilemma. Now, I know there are certain tips you can get that screw on over your existing tips, which from far away, looks retarded because you see the old tip inside with the new one around it? Looks retarded...

So I was curious. How the hell do I know if I can put a certain tip onto my exhaust? I have found 2 that I am really interested in, but don't know if I'll be able to put them onto my mufflers. One of them happen to be the Porsche GT2 tips which I think would look great on our rear. Here are 2 pics of what they look like...

The second one I am interested in are the tips for an S55 AMG...here is a link to what they look like

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2464393543

Lastly, I can buy the stock '03 mufflers with the newer tips for about $100 + shipping. What do you guys think I should do, and how do I know if those tips will fit??

'03 are thicker and chrome. much nicer IMO. I would be interested in swapping out my '01s if someone can tell us where we can buy just the '03 tips.

01 not chrome??

Mine are chrome. They attach directly to the exclusive "peeling paint" Honda Muffler.

Yeah my bad the only way i know of is to buy the complete 03 mufflers that come with the tips. I haven't seen a place to buy just the tips as they're welded onto the mufflers.

I asked the guys at acura last time i was there about getting the 03 mufflers, and they said they cost $200 per. Forget that, might as well spend a little more and get a nice set of aftermarket ones.

Ok you guys...I understand from a couple of your points of views how it can be ":ghey:" to you...however, I really don't see how its much of a big deal. It's fucking tips we're talking about here...just tips. All it's doing is adding a little better appearance to our somewhat dull exhaust tips on fellow 01-02 CL's. Now I know that the Porsche tips COULD be a little over the top, however I think it would be different, which is the keyword here. If I get the 03 mufflers, its not a drastic change, and its what other members have done. If I want to be more original, why not try some different tips right? I'm sure people here are wondering what they could possibly look like?

By the way, you guys didn't respond on the S55 AMG tips that are on this site:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=2464393543

Those aren't too over the top, atleast that's how I feel. There is also one more suggestion I might add. The basic Porsche Turbo tips, which are somewhat generic and would supplement our bumper inserts very well. They are located here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38662

So those are MY possible following options...

a) Porsche Turbo GT2 tips (1st pic posted)
b) S55 AMG tips
c) Porsche Turbo basic tips
d) '03 CL-S muffler with tips

What do you guys think??

thanks for replying quikcls...

I think they would look great as well, because they're pretty subtle yet very defined...plus I like how it looks inside the tip.

I like the SL 55 tips. There was one parked in my car park. DAMN!!!
I was also thinking about the porsche one too but I think its a little too obvious that those are porsche because I've only seen those on GT2s.
Iam also really thinking about putting on SL tips to. Just want to make sure they fit inside the bumper area
Dem1k if you go with the plan, POST PICS!!!!!

thanks for the encouragement Fireball...atleast somebody is on the same page as me

I feel u on the Porsche tips...they are obvious...however I think they would look fucking sweet. And yes, the SL55 AMG tips would be perfect because they're classy enough to look stock as well...I dont know man....I'm realllly debating it. I think I'm leaning towards the AMG tips...

And yea, if anybody could photoshop them on my car that would be great...

Thanks!

the only thing wrong with those tips is that they slops downwards at one end of each...where our cutouts are made for a tip with even sides....

Would you be able to Photoshop the GT2 tips as well as the S55 amg tips??
