I actually think the new tips on the 2003 give the STOCK car a sound just like the Comptech mufflers.
I haven’t done a side-by-side comparison, but I know I like the sound of my 03 better then my 01.

Don't get an aftermarket exhaust in that case
Er you could get the comptech and then buy the quiet tip inserts so you have the slight perfromance and looks advantage but not the noise.
