Exhaust suggestion - Monza tips w/ resonators

I don't believe I've seen these talked about here but years ago I replaced the muffler on an 88 Maxima with one of Monza's resonator exhaust tips - dual 17 inch. They are straight through but have fiberglass and baffles inside to tune the sound. They sound different than many of the aftermarket exhaust for imports. I'm dating myself but think of a TR6 - very burbley with lots of pops and the occasional backfire pop.

LOL, I had a full Pacesetter exhaust on my 88 CRX Si. It was cheap but actually worked really well. Honestly though I don't see it fitting the CL's more sport-luxury appearance, but to each their own.

Yeah, I thought they were cheap, as I've seen alot of the oldschool aircooled vw's with 'em... They didn't seem to last that long, but maybe they've improved over the years

I had an empi system on my bus, but went with an OEM step (should have went with the stainless OEM style).

I'm thinking the pacesetter would make a nice ricey fartcan...

Pacesetter has no place on a CL

The tips will not give much sound improvement. I had a custom setup using these tips on my 300M & the tips alone made no sound difference. The sound was in the muffler I used.
Also the little resonator inside had water pool after each wash & after a few years they rusted out, & actually broke off inside the tip.

You know that mid-80's Accord with the rivited on body kit that half falling off and giant yellow grapefruit shooter exhaust poking out of the back that you see on the highway? That guy.

They are popular with Corvette owners. 84-90 Corvettes are somewhat quiet with those giant muffles they had. Baffled, glass-packed resonators (tips) by Monza and Corsa replace the stock mufflers. My buddy had an 86 Corvette and put them on. I thought they looked and sounded good.
