Don't know here, but I remember reading about a couple of people doing it on acura-tl.com.. You can do a search. I do not think they were happy though.

I think the extra noise will eventually drive you nuts. Don't do it!

I took out my resonator and my ride sounds great! It really has a great grumble. However I still have my stock mufflers, I just took out my resonator and had my cat gutted out and put back in so its just a hollow shell.

Glass? Do they still make those. That's old technology. Now companies make mufflers with straight thru designs for low restriction. Do a search.

Why bother..

The "Resonator" is a strait thru design incorporated into the exaust system to deaden the "Resonance" created at lower RPM's under load. Removing it add ZERO benefit and only makes your car a tiny bit louder. It offers no performance gain whatsoever.

The resonator is a restriction in the exhaust system!:sqnteek: You dont see race cars or true performance cars with them on do you?

It's just for noise. The amount of restriction is almost nill.

Race cars don't have exhaust, and I bet a bunch of newer performance cars have them. It gets rid of the nasty moan the exhaust makes at low RPM when it's working hard.

I agree with 1killercls, the resonator is there to deaden the noise below 3500 RPMs.

Pappy is also right, if u have it done u will get tired of it very quickly.

I also wanted to have it done but then had the opportunity to hear it 1st hand from another CLS member. The sound it great, at idle and leaving off the line or just plain accelerating. But when we got onto the Freeway and began crusing on the HW the low RPMs we sooooooo drowning. The resonating mumm at 2K in 5th didn't take long to get pissed at. But there was also something else that played a key role in the sound, and that was the HKS Super Draggers that he installed. Like I said the sound was great but the removal of the resonator causes that drowning sound. And there really is no performance in removing the resonator.
