Is there a way I can install a performance exhaust on my CL-P while retaining the factory look? i.e., I want to keep my stock exhaust tips but want the sound and added power of a performance exhaust. If any of you have done this or know how to do this, I would appreciate your input.

you may be able to have the muffeler shop weld the tips on to your new system, but there may be some rust problems w/ cutting the tips off and welding them back on.

 

Well, first...you will not realize any gains with a muffler alone....the entire exhaust system from the cat back needs to be changed in order for gains to be realized. Your muffler will flow a bit more, thus changing the sound, but tips are actually what creates the distinct sounds you hear on cars.
