How much did the comptech mufflers cost you and are they hard to install ? I watched some videos on youtube with the comptech mufflers and they sound really nice. I also have a CAI and i removed the mid muffler so im guessing that will help it sound a little nicer as well.

depending on which comptech mufflers you get the cl ones will be a direct bolt on if you the get tl comptech mufflers you'll have to take it to a muffler shop to shorten the piping i think the same goes for v6 accord 98-02. magnaflows are bang for the buck just buy the muffler and pay the shop to weld it probably around 100 dollars.

Where did you purchase the mufflers from did you get them at the muffler shop or did you get them online ? if you got them online do you know of a good website and does it have to be for the cl or will any comptech or magnaflow mufflers fit ?

if you want mufflers made just to bolt up to the car, the comptech is what you want. They are 600 new tho. You can buy magnaflow mufflers for 200 or less, but you need to have a shop custom fit them to the car cause they are universal mufflers. There used to be hks and greddy mufflers/cat-back but i think both are discontinued now.

dont know much about cars do you?
comptech or magnaflow mufflers can be bought online. I bought my comptechs from another member on here. You can get magnaflows from almost any local muffler shop and they will install them for you since magnaflows are universal and not made specifically for our cars. Comptechs are straight bolt on, at least if you get the model made for our cars.

No it was a Cat back for 2001-2003 cl base or type s, it was not made for another car because it was a direct fitment when I installed it myself, you just need to search more, its somewhat rare now I think.

Hey, sorry to kind of hijack your thread so I apologize in advance but does anyone know if any of the cat-back kits for any year 2 door accords with the V6 will fit the cl's without any modification? I know both cars are based on the same chassis and they accept the same headers and j-pipe so would any of the cat-backs fit as well? That would expand our options as far as exhaust goes since there are other major companies that offer them for V6 accords, but not the cl's. I did try to search but nothing had any specific info reguarding this. (only thing I found was someone extending piping on an accord exhaust to fit a tl)

It is not, loud, and sounds similar to HKS Hi power exhaust, but with a slightly more agressive tone.
Peaks at 92 DB and thats only WOT.
Very deep exhaust, NO RASP WHATSOEVER, does not sound ricer.
I've had old people in vettes ask me if it was custom made because they say it sounds very nice.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0Hgu...eature=related Mine sounds similar to this but slightly louder, and less raspy.
Got tired of the magnaflows, they just drone way too much.
Cat backs for life now.

I had the HKS on my car and honestly with the exception of start up and REALLY revving the sh*t out of it you wouldn't even be able to tell it was on the car. I sold them, having two giant shiny mufflers on an otherwise stock car just looks silly, especially if you don't even get the right sound.

I like my giant shiny mufflers that produce a sound that doesn't sound like I went to Julios and put a coffee can filled with rocks and glass on the back of my car.

With your mid-muffler removed and having Comptech mufflers, your car will sound exactly like mine:

Whats up guys I finally installed the mufflers on my car. I went with the maganaflows and the sound great. I have one more question When they welded the hangers on to the muffler they left big weld marks that you can see pretty easily. What is the best way to get rid of that is it okay to just spray paint it a flat black ?
#39
Good welding i would keep bare. if you look on the really high quality bikes etc they purposely leave the welding exposed so you can see how good of work the welders do. I can see the welding on my ct exhaust. Considering it was probably just a local shop the welding probably isnt anything youd want to look at tho. You can paint it like a matte black just make sure you use high temp paint.

Agreed. Nice welds should be left alone. Messy welds though should be cleaned up. As long as the welds are strong, you can grind them down and polish them out.
