Yea to grind it out and polish it would be nice im afraid the paint wont stick well to the coating that is on the muffler already. I regret the tips that i got as well should have got them a little bigger and then it would have covered up the muffler a little better lol.

I'm looking to change my stock CLS mufflers for magnaflows or similar. Are the stock mufflers heavy, is there any weight savings with different mufflers? Thanks.

weight savings would be minimal. and even if there is any, you wouldnt be able to tell a difference, not even if you ran with no mufflers

Thanks for the info. I helped my friend change his mufflers on a BMW M3 and there was a large difference, had to find out.

I think the ct exhaust might actually weigh more than stock, not sure tho didnt weigh them, both are heavy but ct has thicker metal. Btw post up some pics so we can see the exhaust.

The largest weight difference is the headers, but thats not a savings you can feel.
