this is kinda a newbie question, but what does it mean when people say they've "hardwired their V1 radar"... does that mean it's concealed or wut... and does anyone have pics?

im in desperate need of getting one, and i juss want clarification on what the term "hardwired" meant...

hardwired means that it is directly and neatly wired to the cars existing electrical system, this eliminates the need for the use of the unsightly cigarette lighter power plug, the power wire is hidden in the headliner of the car and runs down along the door frame to the fuse panel. the V1 turns on and off when the car is turned on and off...basically it is for neatness and conveinience. who wants that ugly coiled cord hanging all over the place anyways??

I ended up buying a cordless radar detector and it seems to work fine (Beltronics). But it means that you have to turn it on when you want to use it which kinda sucks. But, no unsightly cord!!!

Do the V1's work pretty well? My understanding was that if the detector goes off and you are speeding, its already too late...if I am wring, then please, enlighten me :p

I don’t want to get into a whole “who’s best” argument…….BUT
Just so you know cordless detectors GREATLY reduce the effectiveness of the detector no matter what the brand.
ANY review will tell you this.
