ESCORT 8500 hardwire??

does the Escort 8500 detector come with a wire similar to the V1 that lets you hardwire it and avoid having a wire hanging down to the cigarette lighter plug? i need to get a detector but at 400 the V1 is a bit too steep for me for minimal superiority above the 8500 (according to car and driver tests)...anyone have an Escort 8500 that they want to sell????

Yes it does...

You can get a hardwire kit from Escort for it. It is the same hardwire kit for both the 7500 & 8500, it even has that little module that gives you alert lights, and a mute

For $10 you can get a hardwire kit, and for $20 more you can get it with the smartcord. OR, you can go to radioshack spend $2 and get an inline fuse holder and fuse tap, then use an old phoneline and create your own hardwire kit, it costs less and if you know anything about electronics it will only take you about ten minutes. The whole hardwire process should take you only half an hour if you make your own.
