Has anyone experienced this before.

My gas pedal felt like it was sticking a little on take off.
When I got home I decided to put a little lube on the contact and pivot points. After doing this, I had the car in park and was revving the engine, when I got to about 5K rpm the engine started to pulsate like it was misfiring. Almost sounded like the fuel supply was cutting off.

Is this normal or is there something not right? Or is the ecu system cutting off fuel or something to protect the engine from over-revving?

My other Honda vehicles in the past did not do this. So I was wondering if anyone has had this happen before. The car seems to drive and accelerate fine.

That's normal. You called it yourself, it's the fuel line cutoff to avoid over-revving. In neutral it takes no time for the revs to get up, you could well over-red-line it if not careful.

 

I've had the same problem with the sticking accelerator, it went away for awhile but it has come back recently.

 

If it still bothers you, bring the car in to the Acura dealer and ask for a computer diagnosis. If there is anything wrong, it should show here. Let us know.

 

I have the sticky accelerator as well. I tried to Lube and clean the pedal/cable. It went away for a while but now it is back. I have an appointment tomorrow
