Engine cutting out with 6 speed
when I am putting at 2000RPM every now and then it feels like the engine is cutting out. The car has no power, if i take my foot off the gas for sec then its fine again. I had the Dealer check it out and they found nothing wrong with it. anybody have any ideas?

Here's the web site regarding for the water pump and timing belt tensioner misaligned. I find this out because my check engine light when on and the dealer told me that the tensioner is in back order. I end up waiting for 2 weeks for them to finish my car. [water pump and tensioner recalled

Ah, the benefit of this site. I've moved around so much in the last half a year that I never received a notice. I'll take it up with the local Acura before I drive to Cali.

Annoys the hell out of me, and my dealer found nothing as well (personally, I think it's a bug in the ECU code for the transition from open - cold to closed - hot mode.)
I'd really like it to go away though...

It is just an annoying feature.
I was under the assumption that the water pump issue only involved CLs with the J32A1 engine??
Anyways, I have witnessed this same feature which is rare. I have noticed it twice but have thought nothing of it as it is quick and reports no codes.

Yeah .. my 6 speed does it too .. but mine also 'jerks' 3 times when you take your foot off the gas and let the speed of the vehicle maintain engine RPM .. and then gradually press the gas (very slowly) .. it will jerk again 3 times .. I think it has to do with the idle mechanism .. I know they are changing out ECU with auto trannys due to various 'fixes' .. but I think the ECU in our 6 speeds are flawed too.

OMG my CL-s does that same shit until it is really warmed up. First I though it was bad gas but then I realized it wasn't that... so I took it to the dealer and they obviously said that there was nothing wrong. It doesn't really do it any more b/c I know what gear and what RPM it likes to do it in.

I also have the same problem. I thought my foot slipped off the gas or something the first time it did it. It seems to be when cruising at a steady speed around 2k rpm. I have only had the car since the end of January and it has done it maybe 5 times.

My route to work allows me to hit the same spot everyday with the stumble. Very predictable. :P

Regardless, to me it has only occurred a couple of times so I chalk it up to an occasional nuisance.

Where is my super sauce?
I noticed it myself today too. It feels like a slight hesitation in the engine, and then returns to normal. I agree, it also happens right at the car gets fully warmed up, about a mile or so from the house.
This was only the second or third time I've noticed this in my year of ownership. As scalbert said, just a minor nuisance.
It must be Acura's way of saying 'welcome to spring', seeing that we're all seeing this with the change in weather.

Well tell me something guys. This recall states that a notice was sent out to owners in Aug 02. I didnt recieve my car till Oct 02. This means my car should be fine per the recall. Yet i have that same " jerking" type motion everyone is talking about when you hold the car in like 3rd gear partial throttle.

Not really. What it means is the notice either went to the dealership or did not go anywhere at all. Just because a dealer has the vehicle when the recall goes out does not mean that the dealership will perform the recall. You will have to either bring it in and have them check, run the VIN or ask the dealership.

Oh shit is that what you are talkin about? I think that's just the Dual Mass Flywheel.

You put it in 4th gear and the engine is about 88% warmed. You move thru traffic about 40mph and then the engine is now about 95% warmed up. Then all of a sudden, the fucking car jerks like you let out the clutch too quickly. Not a constant JERKING back and forth but one quick jolt just like you let the clutch out too quickly. The fucked up thing is that the clutch is not engaged when this happens. I'm not shifting at all either. The car will just jerk once and after that initial jerk, it won't do it again because the engine is fully warmed up.
I notice that I have to actually let the freakin' car cruise in neutral when it's about 88% warmed up...so that I know when i pass the 95% warmed up marker, I am ok to engage in gear without feeling the "jerk".
What is up with this?????? I am assuming youguys have the similar problems like me too? The most noticeable would be in 4th gear for me...even 5th gear sometimes is noticeable..but very very slight. 3rd gear sometimes...but i usually end up in 4th gear because of my area/road.

I have noticed this from time to time but it hasn't bothered me that much.
One thing that really bothers me is that the idle isn't smooth. If I am in am rolling in a low gear (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) on idle, the car jerks every once in a while. I have the ac forced to off so its not the ac cycling thats causing this.

Me too
They replaced my water pump too... by accident..LOL.. I told them that there was a recall and to look into it, so they just changed it.. Called me 2 days later and told me I owed them $$ for the water pump.. I told them to stick it, since i told them to check into it FIRST and change it if was part of the recall.. not my problem.. LOL..

This was the recall information and there was at least one thread on it last September:
Water Pump Recall
Now I remember what the CL-P issue was, it had to do with a camshaft problem. The water pump issue involved most of the V6 Honda engines and spanned a manufacturing period of about a month.

THE J35A2...
i clicked on all the links on this thread and they're all dead. DEAD! they're old i know
so, question is... how bad of a deal this water pump and timing belt recall affects the performance of (y)our car? what kind of "reaction" does it do to the car? how does it drive, when it goes bad?
as of now, once in a while i'm getting some hesitation on mid RPM range (3500-4500), feels like tapping on brake 3X, but after i pass 5000 it goes normal and when i shift on redline there'll be no hesitation dunno maybe because it falls right on 5500
i'm guessing the following:
---bad map sensor? (found oil residue around it...)
---bad ps/sc tensioner? i doubt this is the problem but i caught the sc belt jumping outside the pulley, twice already.
---bad a/f mixture? (e-manage need to be re-tuned?)
---synchro? (but it doesn't pop out on gears, and clutch holding up strong...)
so, i'm not sure if the water pump and timing belt tensioner has something to do with it... please help

2014 TL SH-AWD Advance
I have noticed that (and this happens practically the same time, everytime) right when the car gets to operating temperature, it's like the engine shuts down for a 1/2 second, then takes off again. I took it to a chicago dealership and they found nothing. It's not as noticable in 6th gear, but if I'm like in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th I definately feel the slight jerk. My 12Mo bumper to bumper is just about to expire too and I know those bastards won't ever find any problem

I had a similar problem with my 03 6-6speed. I had an induction service done in December and I haven't had a problem since then.
Hopefully, my info helps a little.
