Engine Cover Painting

What kind of paint did you use and does anyone have a DIY? I know it's not that hard, but I just want to take the steps in the right direction as painting is not my specialty.

Also, On a SSM CL, you think Silver or Red would look good for the cover? I'm thinking either way it will look good, but Silver to match the body of the car.

Thanks

That came out very nice. How many coats did you go with?

One coat of base and one coat of clear. We just did the front filler panel also.(panel that hides hood latch assy, and radiator)
Should have it back on this weekend and get pictures done if you want to see them also.

come on people. I know alot of you have painted engine covers. I remember seeing a thread specifically designated to this, but after 20 min of searching, i gave up.
