End of an era

So I haven't been all that active on the forum in the last few years but I've pretty much always had at least one of several 2G CLs in my driveway for the last ten years. Sadly that ended yesterday with my '01 CL-S meeting its demise. The car used to be owned by my father, user Oakroadsteve on here and has been in our family for nearly 15 years at this point. I own several cars at this point, one much older than the CL but I don't think either would have protected me as well as this car did. The CLs I've owned have always been great cars with this being my favorite but I think this will be the last one I own for the foreseeable future sadly.

Hurts to see a CL look like that. I hope you're okay after an incident like that. Seeing this brings me back to reality that I could easily lose my baby.

Time to switch to American Muscle for a daily driver. My 01 Accord served me well for 15 years and I had alot of fun modding it, but the 98 Camaro SS I picked up is better in all aspects versus the Honda.

Sounds like you're okay which is what is important. I'm sure you can find another CL

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Unfortunately I think I'm done with CLs for now. If I were to get another one it would have to be another 6 speed, but try as I might I can't get the wife to willingly drive a manual. I myself have moved onto various GM V8 cars but there will likely always be some sort of Honda/Acura product in the driveway for her to putt around in.

:ouch: Another CL-S taken from us... Every CL owner who was in an accident does mention how solid the car is. I recall another user years ago said he was t-boned by an SUV and the impact just pushed his car around, while it completely flipped the SUV. These cars are tanks.

Sorry to hear you lost yours. I'd hate to lose my CL as it also has a lot of sentimental value for me. Will never be forgotten, eh?
