i want to get a straight pipe but im not sure if i shud get it
how often do you get a emissions test if more than once then how do yall get around the test with a straight pipe

 

it varies from state to state. most states just hook up to the obdII port and make sure u have no codes, some states dont do anything. and other will do a smog test (ull fail with a straight pipe) and visual inspection.

 

well i live in maryland but im not sure if my state does that

 

ok i just found out that in maryland they only do a OBD test so i should be ok hoping the check engine light doesn come on

 

You also have the 02 sensor that plugs into the cat. Get rid of the cat & your left with the sensor. That will trigger the CEL. You will have to buy a 02 sensor bypass or find another way to fool the ECU into thinking it's there.

 

I got some headers and now there is a noise comming from my Cat (like something broke off inside and is jingling inside) But there is NOT CEL on or no code would they fail me cuz the noise or do they stick like a tube in the exhoust to check something??

Also my SRS light has been on forever I had it fixed by ACURA like 3 or 4 times through the years but everytime it gets fixed it just comes on like 5-6 months later, would I fail for the SRS light!??!?

 

get a spark plug defouler. screw that in the straight pipe and then the o2 sensor. works like a charm

 

the guy told me that he will drill a hole in the pipe and put the sensor on he told me that he passed the emission test with it and he has the same cl soo i will decide later

 

in Jersey they check for everything to make sure that your car is road worthy. If any lights are on they fail you automatically, if any of your light bulbs are out, they fail you for that too.

You have to pass a visual and a sniffer test. The smog station that I went even asked me to roll up my windows to check for tint.
